I love how much more love the Ice Type has gotten over the years. It used to be the worst Type but now thanks to Regional variants, an awesome legendary Pokémon, better moves and abilities have helped one of if not my favorite Type. I also think Vanilluxe and Iescue should get honerble mentions given their amazing move pool and great abilities and good stats. Especially in Iescue's case. Man alive that penguin Pokémon can be just as scary if not more so than Galarian Darmanitan.

Mamoswine and weavile are my favorite ice types for 2 reasons. 1 great design. 2 fun to play with. The 2 most important things in the end i think. Honorable mention from me to walrein, it took me a while to give it a try but when i finally did in oras i enjoyed it way more than i expected.

You know what I recently realized? The Ice type has always been part of the later half of the games. It's always either the 6th gym, 7th gym or in the elite four. But if Ice is as weak as many people say, then why put Ice at that point in the game? If you really think about, it does not make much sense.

Well I think that's because unlike bug, rock, normal and other early game typings, it isn't supposed to be a weaker type, the fact that ice types are so rare and late in the game proves it's meant to be strong. The fact that it is so weak is probably accidental, and also the result of ice being a good type in generation one and getting overnerfed in gen 2, just like with normal, psychic and rock types. But it's rather obvious that ice and psychic are meant to be way stronger than they currently are, it's the type chart that needs a change, not where you find the types. Additionally ice types are generally found in mountains and ice caves, not near the grasslands of route 1. They are always environments very hostile to your progression due to slippery floor, thick snow slowing you down, ... so not great for early game. Another reason why they are not found there is because ice type shit on early route pokemon, if you picked the grass type starter there is few ways to deal with ice types with your team of pidgey, vivillon and budew. I guess you can say that putting rock and flying type gyms in early game is equally a problem though

Fun fact about Mamoswine: thanks to its dual typing, it naturally covers three of its five weaknesses (Fire, Grass and Steel), leaving just two to deal with (Water and Fighting). Sadly though, it has no super effective moves against either of those two.

White Kyurem, in my noobish opinion, is probably the fourth or fifth best pokemon in Sword/Shield. Only Crowned Sword Zacian, Shadow Rider Calyrex, and Dusk Mane Necrozma are superior. His attack is through the roof and his unique typing allows for tremendous ammounts of different attack types. I think he’s better than the Black forme one only because special attacks are generally better than physical attacks. Also his ability is incredible.

I have been trying harder and harder to use ice types more often because although it sucks defensively, it's a beast on offense. Eiscue, Mr. Rime are both great as well, but my new all time favorite ice type over Mamoswine, has to be Frosmoth. Even with it's quad weakness to both rock and fire, the thing is just a BEAST with it's hidden ability. I've been hit by a level 100 fire blast and it only took a quarter of it's damage. Plus with boots avoiding stealth rocks, and it getting giga drain and hurricane, Frosmoth is my personal favorite of all ice types.

Ice Types need a rebalance in typing match ups. A typing that is very good offensively, should have more typing resistances. Ice should be able to resist Flying, Bug, Grass and Ground. Ice should not be weak to Fire, since both typings offset each other... Fire melts Ice, but Ice puts out Fire; thus both should do neutral damage to each other. Also: Articuno should have been somewhere in the top 10. His stats are pretty solid at 580 in the main series games & he was arguably the best of the legendary birds in Gen 1. If Game Freak increases his move pool in Gen 8, Articuno’s stats could put him in the top 5.

Have you ever considered doing your own version of a Most Disturbing/Scary/WTF/etc. Pokédex Entries? I’m legitimately curious to see which ones affected you the most. For instance, I can honestly say, with added perspective, that Unova is the one region I wouldn’t want to live in. At least, if we applied real world effects to the Pokémon series.
