Mythic has just been Leo and Benoit for well over a year now. All of their actual game developers quit or were let go after the close of Anastyr. It's safe to say that no other companies can benefit from either of their contributions. They need to close up shop and let everyone finally deal with losing all their money. It is sad because when they finally did produce a game, they were usually quite good.

It's a sad ending for a company that had great creative potential. I watched the latest video from KoA on the matter, and apparently, Leo's private address was posted on the internet, and he received death threats. Mythic messed up big time, but death treats....

I find it funny how on the ball you were with this take. If CMON does Hel the last saga like they did Hate that would be cool. I just don't know how they're going to handle it. Plus I find their components are getting cheaper lately

I agree with that. The miniatures are fine, but the cardboard feels cheap.

@@1D6nl their cardboard is definitely getting cheaper, less dense and flaky feeling. Still fine though. Their storage systems though...still industry lagging.

Not yet. Our prediction has come true and at the moment we can't share any more details on the situation. We do want to make videos on 6 Siege, but we'll be focussing on the game rather than the whole situation again.

The thing is I never agreed to a version of HEL from a company that will most likely not stay faithful to the original idea that was proposed so in my opinion, selling to another company, regardless of whether I get a free game or not, is not a solution. Furthermore, some of the backers paid way more than the base game - for example, the extras - then would be covered by the price of the base game. And to add insult to injury, they also expect us to pay shipping on this free game that most of us overpaid for. The ethical thing to do in this situation is to refund all backers that request it since they now have the money from selling all their IPs to another company. No excuse for this.

I don't think that CMON is the bad guy here. Sure they're not flawless, but they offer the best solutio....... let me rephrase that..... they offer the least bad solution here.

@@1D6nl I don't blame CMON for this - they shouldn't be held responsible. My last statement in my comment is directed at MG. Whatever CMON decides to do after I get my refund from MG is up to them, but for MG to not even address refunds as an option is ridiculous.

@@1D6nl I'm almost just as disappointed about not getting the Hnefatafl set, the renders looked dope. Ill see what Cmon does to the game before i decide to pay more for it, I'm ready to just let it go at this point. Man, they had Sam Healy on board, Solomon Kane and Joan of Arc, Super Fantasy Brawl were all getting good reviews. It looked like a sure thing. But I guess if you're using funds from one project to pay for something completely different, this is a likely outcome (I'm not even sure it was legal, but someone would have to prove that is what they did). edit: Isn't having multiple undelivered projects, and then starting even more, supposed to be against Kickstarters terms? Hey as long as they got their cut, amirite?

I just bought Darkest Dungeon wave 1 second hand on eBay for a reasonable price knowing full well wave 2 may never come. Hopefully Mythic will sell their license to another company because I certainly would never back any game by Mythic myself from what I've read and heard about them. The games sound good, but the company is unreliable and borderline scamming customers.

Heh, this kind of ultimatum is pretty ridiculous, and not how the world works. I backed Hel too, maybe they ask for money, maybe they don't, but that's just an understood risk of kickstarters. It really comes down to whether other people are still willing to give Mythic money after the delayed games and price increases. There are options other than "Shut down and go your separate ways." Maybe they just decide to drop the entire kickstarter paradigm and develop games with funding, on their own schedule, and sell completed games instead of the promise of a game. Whatever decision they make, or strategy going forward, is theirs to choose, not ours to dictate.
