Oh my god we are on the same wavelength!!! I just purchased this game a couple of days ago and loved it, but was sad that I couldn’t find many reviews or fanfare about it. But now one of my favorite channels has uploaded their review, my day is complete ;) What I love about this game is that it focuses on deep character dynamics/relationships and motivations, without going once into the well-worn romantic tread. Not saying there’s anything wrong with having games with romantic paths/options, just saying it’s a breath of fresh air to focus on other kinds of relationships for once. And, what’s more is that your choices in conversation actually do MATTER in this game. One thing that I would’ve liked is the ability to save before an important dialogue/option choice, as this game auto saves, but I didn’t find this to be a deal-breaker in any case. Also, I don’t know if it’s just me, but I kept clicking A and accidentally chose dialogue options I didn’t want. Lol. Just a word of advice for people who buy this game, don’t click A mindlessly. Use the fast forward dialogue option instead if you’ve seen it already. Thanks again for the review!

Oh wow! Thank you so much for such a thoughtful comment! I agree about the positivity of the non-romantic setting. I mean, not all relationships have to be. Haha! And yes, the real consequences made the game really meaningful.

@@BudgetGamerChannel Wow, thanks for the kind comment and the like! Yes, I think even the concept is refreshing as it focuses on more philosophical issues and has a broader scope. Also, oddly, it gives me hope. It shows how we have the power to change and shape our world, starting with what’s inside of us first. I feel like the world we’re in now could definitely use a fresh reset like the world in this game…;)

I was shocked at how effectively this game drew me in just through its demo. The story seems mystical and even heavy in nature, which would normally turn me off, but the charm and intimate moments with the characters kept the experience grounded, somehow... So unique, I'm going to have to get the full game. Also Amar is one of _the cutest things I've ever seen._ Great review, thanks for bringing attention to these cool indie projects. People are so creative nowadays. :)

I like the aesthetic, story, and characters of this game, though I must confess that after multiple playthroughs, the game's tendency to hyper-focus on your errors to determine your ending kinda sours the experience.

This looks good. Do you just buy cool looking games then review them or is there some kind of logic to what you choose?
@BudgetGamerChannel3 жыл бұрын
Lol! There is a bit of both in the real answer. I certainly look for good looking games, but I also balance prices, sakes, developer requests, against the genres and styles I've recently reviewed. I try not to review similar genres back to back. 😎👍

With all due respect, your definition of "rpg" would make way too many video games qualify as rpg's, including games such as Super Mario Bros., Mega Man, Halo and God of War. A much more accurate description would be to call this an exploration adventure or open world adventure. I do really like that you called it "narrative driven" because that does really help define what kind of game this is. I also love how you went about describing the story, giving enough information to get people interested without spoiling a thing. You really nailed it. Great review.
@storytellermusician2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it doesn't have leveling up or improving character stats or skills like RPGs have. Open world narrative driven adventure I think fits.
