Yay! Thanks for opening Dragon's Maze, Jeremy! Those cards are really nostalgic for me, because it was the first set I played during. I remember building all of my casual decks with those cards, and it was a much simpler time when Magic was more enchanting and mysterious. Also, I opened my first mythic, which was this odd GW 2/2 Voice of Resurgence, which I didn't like at first...

This was the set I was introduced to magic in. I was around for the Theros draft but for some reason I didn't go to its prerelease.. I do remember DGM being very difficult to draft because of all the gold cards.

First magic product I ever bought was a Dragon's Maze Azorius intro pack. I still have my modified version of that deck casual. I would like to pick up a box of this to just kind of casually open with my friends from time to time.

Melek, Izzet Paragon's card text is sweet. Pretty creative card. It'd work well in an instant/sorcery-heavy deck. "Play with the top card of your library revealed. You may cast the top card of your library if it's an instant or sorcery card. Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell from your library, copy it. You may choose new targets for the copy." Ruric Thar, the Unbowed looks like another good one. It should do well against flying creatures and work well if you have life-gain spells. "Vigilance, reach Ruric Thar, the Unbowed attacks each turn if able. Whenever a player casts a noncreature spell, Ruric Thar deals 6 damage to that player." Yeah, I nerded out. What of it?

Being a new(ish) player, it's actually really interesting seeing the older sets and their mechanics...at least, it's nice to be able to see what they are and what they do like this, rather than try to figure that out and how to deal with it when someone uses them against me in a game, in any case;)

I don't know. Ruric Thar, The Unbowed is also a very nice card in Dragon's Maze. It doesn't see a lot of play, but some Red/Green rogue strats could see him played.

Voice was pretty much fantastic the entire time. The preorder price for it was $25-$30 and it even hit $40 at one point in standard. The card never dropped below $20 the entire time it was in standard

I know I drafted a lot of this set because somewhere I've got a drawer full of gates. And that's after every commander deck got between one and three and many casual decks got several. Blodrush and unleash are also good mechanics in aggressive decks.

I'll never forget when my Judge friend was given a box of Dragon's Maze for running an event and he made us draft with all 3 packs of it. It was by far, the worst drafting experience I ever had. I gave up after the first pack and just drafted Cluestones.

Yes, you can attack with your commander. In fact, one of the primary win conditions/single opponent loss is dealing 21 combat damage with your commander.

You should DEFINITELY be attacking with that Tajic of yours if you ever make an EDH deck around it like I did... There's just soooo much you can do with Battalion since there's Odric, master Tactician and loads of great soldiers in those colors. SOI will have an auto-add to any Soldier deck, Thalia's Lieutenant. And with soldiers, you can go either the budget way(like me) or all the way...

hey mtg i jusdt watched some of ur twich matches and i noticed that u were using cracking sligfhtly wrong. Cracking doom can kill planes walkers when they turn in to creaters u hit them with doom and they have to sac the most powerfully creater they have. i am a hard core mardu player i use a version of mardu dragons
