Thank you so much for this video! I just have a question, can you tell me how is the glycosilation process or product different in yeast? I'm studying a lot right now to make my thesis, and your explanations help me get a deeper understanding of this process

We have a need to animate the upregulation of DPAGT1 gene and subsequent over-expression of UDP-N acetylglucosamine-dolichyl-phosphate acetylglucosamaninephosphotransferese 1 which activates solid tumor cancer growth and metastasis pathways. Would you accept a fee for service? It’s for a multi-university team and would aid cancer therapeutic development.

So, once this N-linked glycosylation is finished, then this peptide tagged molecule goes to the plasma membrane and settle there? So I just want to know Is the same structure of plasma membrane glycoprotein?
@animatedbiologywitharpan4 жыл бұрын
Glad that you took your time to comment. What I can tell you is several plasma membrane proteins are N-glycosylated on their extracellular domain in the endoplasmic reticulum and further glycosylated in the Golgi before transport to the cell surface.(apart from plasma membrane proteins several enzymes are also N linked glycosylated). This carbohydrate tree on membrane protein could affect its folding, stability, trafficking to the cell surface, and/or function. The occurrence of carbohydrate-deficient membrane glycoprotein leads to a syndrome I-IV disorder in humans, which can be life-threatening, indicating the fact that proper glycosylation of both membrane and secretory glycoproteins are essential for development and disease.
