Thank you. After watching a couple of these videos in a row it’s starting to really click. Everyone has their method and there are small things you covered that the previous videos I watched did not. For that I thank you my friend happy boostin!

It's just a 5mm for the three hex bolts on the unit. Unless you've got some gunk or something in them then it will be hard to make the 5mm fit.

hello great video! Do you have a model to advise me at a lower cost? I have mine to replace but I don't want to put anything in. Thank you in advance.
@AshwinLB3 жыл бұрын
Sorry I just saw this comment now! But usually fcp euro is a little more but it does come with the lifetime warranty. Maybe if you look local to your area, you will find something cheaper!

Where did you buy the HPFP? Nice DIY.
@AshwinLB4 жыл бұрын
I got it from FCP Euro! Free lifetime warranty so you just have to pay for shipping the next time it goes out! Thanks so much I really appreciate it!! 🙏🏽

Great Video, does also include the BMW Z4 35i I presume?
@AshwinLB2 жыл бұрын
Yes it should use the same pump but I do know the inlet pipe is different since there is no low pressure fuel sensor on the Z4 n54. But the process should be the same!
@dylanfisher60422 жыл бұрын
@@AshwinLB Thanks for the quick response pal. Would you recommend going for a stock genuine BMW HPFP or is their aftermarket ones that are cheaper and just as good?
@dylanfisher60422 жыл бұрын
Further to that point, I presume this would be a HPFP failure given the fuse blew twice. And upon checking the third time the fuse was intact but the car wouldn't idle
@AshwinLB2 жыл бұрын
If it was 2 years ago I would have said to go for the genuine BMW. But considering the price is over $900 usd now, I don’t think it’s worth the premium. I wouldn’t trust the no-name aftermarket ones but I would personally go for the Rein one on FCP Euro. Rein is a reputable manufacturer but even if it fails prematurely, at least you have the lifetime warranty so you’re not spending much money again. Plus the install is very straightforward. Regarding if you actually need the hpfp, honestly I’m not too sure. Since the fuse blew twice and then didn’t blow, I would try to make sure that the actual wiring harness for the HPFP is still good. Hope it all works out for you!

@@AshwinLB Thanks a bunch! Once i've got the dreaded FRM sorted first. I'll run the diagnostic to check. Would you recommend any good OBD reader for the Bimmer?

What issues were you experiencing to replace this?
@AshwinLB3 жыл бұрын
I was experiencing a really rough idle on cold starts, and when I went into full boost for more than 5 seconds I would run out of fuel, cylinder cuts off and check engine light would come on

Hey im also from Toronto. Did you end up doing the core return? I'm wondering if it's worth it or not.

Yeah I did! It ended up being ~$30 to ship it back with Canada Post, so I think it’s worth it

how much was your hpfp with conversion from FCP? also from toronto
@AshwinLB4 жыл бұрын
I bought it in May for $499 USD + $75USD core charge + $30 usd shipping so it was around $865 CAD total. I got back the 75USD core after spending around $30 CAD to send it back to them. So total after that was around $790 CAD I checked the site now and the hpfp went up to $719 USD :/ I checked around places in Ontario such as Park Auto Motorsports and the price basically ends up being around same without the warranty so it still makes sense to go with FCP imo
@drew25404 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s crazy FCP bumped it up to 699 usd now! I ended up getting a good price on an oem unit from a group member at BMW.
