I LOVE BLACK HAIR. LOVE IT! My daughters had hair down to their butts. They are now 36 and 31 now. . Oldest one still has her long hair and the youngest one cut hers. 😢 Anyway, I would wash, condition and braid their hair, between my thighs every Sunday. Their hair was very long and very healthy. I miss those days. Our hair is the best because it is so versatile. We can wear it in so many styles and we can make it as straight as we want to. Just need to keep it healthy.🤗

Why the shipping isn’t a problem for me: It’s simple math. This product is $16.99 for 16oz nearly a dollar per ounce. Plus $10 shipping is $26.99 for 16 oz right? Ok so before this came out I actually purchased the Camille Rose Naturals Almond Jai twisting butter. It was also $16.99.....for 8oz. Shipping aside, that’s the same price for half the product. Let that sink in. And then we get to shipping, you might think that shipping makes up for it right? Wrong. To get the same amount of product as the Melanin Twisting Creme, I’d have to purchase two of the Camille Twisting Butters. That’s $33.98 for 16oz of product as opposed to $26.99 for 16oz. This is a VERY reasonably priced product for the amount you get shipping included. If you go by amount, people pay just as much or even more for similar products all the time. We just don’t notice cause we usually buy 8oz at a time. If we were regularly spending over $30 at a time for products nobody would complain about her price. Heck we’d be praising it.

Christina Washington Arts The leave in is my fav! It is a really good detangler and leaves hair moist. I would definitely repurchase for myself and my daughter who has very thick, dense, 4b/c hair. The cream is not very moisturizing to me but will leave you with a very defined twist or braid out. The verdict is still out on the oil. I should probably try the loc method to see how the cream and oil perform.

I put this on Whitney's twist out video but repeat it here... yeah like it that much... LOL... did mine two weeks ago and it is still going strong! I'm a 4C low porosity and twist outs never ever work right for me. Take days and days to dry and then don't hold the curl. But I did this and used it with Mane choice gel as my last layer. I used a t shirt to soak up any excess product. Some amazing things happened 1) First the first time ever my hair dried in 24 hours instead of 3 4 days! 2) No flaking! (I had used that mane choice before and it flaked like crazy. The only reason I used it this time because it was the only gel I had in the house. I don't like gels because they make my hair crunchy (cast) or flaky) This time I used it with Melanin and no flakes! 3) its 2 weeks and its still defined and going strong... in fact each day it has gotten bigger and fluffier. I hate to wash it and start over... its so pretty LOL. 4) each twist was well defined! no I don't feel like participating today twists LOL. and the more I divided them the cuter they got! I'm so happy I can finally wear a twist out after NINE LONG YEARS of trying! Its so funny, my hair now looks exactly like my favorite natural wig, LOL. Someone asked me are you wearing your wig or is that your hair, LOL too funny. BTW I will be 56 in july. Hair over 50 is different hair than what it is in your 30s. So glad this product worked for this Golden Girl!

If your hair dries quickly, it is high porosity. If it dries slowly or takes a while to be dry, then it’s low porosity.

What's considered fast? Also my roots dry slow but hair dry fast
@Brownmahfun5 жыл бұрын
Fast is less then an hour. My hair is completely dry in 15 min. And when I put in product it dries about 30 min with product, that is fast. As far as the roots it could be, one or two things. Your roots are healthy with good sebum on it OR your roots are covered in buildup, either way your ends are porous.

This is the most simple explanation about porosity EVER! Thank you!

The mobility, the volume, the definition! All round star! -- If you do decide to check your porosity, don't do the water test. It's wholly inaccurate due to surface tension. But going off your preference for heavier products, you're most likely on the higher end of the spectrum.

We don’t need scents (fragrance) in our hair products! Can we say endocrine system?! Most natural hair care products have fragrance which is code for over 3,000 chemicals hidden in one word. These chemicals will disrupt your endocrine system and mess your hormones. #aintnobodygottimeforthat

My hair is similar to your in texture. I was always frustrated with the extreme definition only at the roots of the flat twists. Try doing a 3-strand twist in order to retain good definition all the way to the ends of your twist. You can do a 3 strand twist from the beginning of the flat twist, or you can switch from 2-strand to a 3-strand twist when you reach the free part of the twist. Let us know how this works out for you!

One thing I notice about your hair in ALL of your videos, is that those ends are always clipped and even. I mean you're never on KZbin in need of a trim. What is your trimming schedule? Do you trim yourself or go to a salon? Your hair looks so healthy! And it's so noticeable when you do your twist! I hope you have time to respond to this comment. 🤞

I really trim as needed. I’ve been trimming a lot (probably too much) lately. Sometimes I blow dry my hair myself and then go somewhere like Supercuts or Great Clips to get a trim (I look for someone who also has natural hair to do it haha). Other times I’ll dust my ends when my hair is in twist on wash days. But only when my ends are feeling super rough or I’m seeing too many split ends/breakage. I have NO tried and true method which is why I’ve never filmed a video on it 😩

The water test isn’t good for knowing your porosity, it’s based off the behavior of your hair. Since your hair takes so long to get dry I would say you might have low porosity hair

Good to know the water test isn’t very accurate! I know there are a few online tests. I may try one of those.

Yeah, from what she said about products on her hair... sounds like she has low porosity. I know I do.

Try a thinner braid in the front instead of flat twist and try the oil it is great, its it's not an oily finish.

Your hair looks great. However, a little light oil is needed for more shine. After your twist or braids air dry, add some grapeseed oil and/or jojoba, before unraveling.
@caroline95653 жыл бұрын
Considering the amount of product in the containers shipping is reasonable in my opinion. However I don’t like paying shipping when I can add another product and they all ship free. Her oil is amazing!
