NAMM 2012: Nuno Bettencourt

You've heard Nuno Bettencourt shred in Extreme. You may have even seen him on tour with pop singer Rihanna. But what you don't know is that Nuno actually came up with the idea for seven string guitars. George Van Eps 7 string with low A many many decades ago and Lenny Breau with 7 string high A. Hope this helps. Seems to be a lot of interest in 7 string shredding. Listen to the guys above plus Ron Eschete, Bucky Pizzerelli, Howard Alden and Jimmy bruno for a different perspective.

The truth is guys Fender were the first to produce a 7 String (rock) guitar. It never went into production but in 1987 they made the Alex Gregory 7 string Strat - have a look at it on Strat Central dot com.
