Agree. China is far ahead than G7 in many areas. Admitting china as developed nation means admitting failure of democratic model of governance and admitting one-party governance model is superior. So It will never happen. China is also deliberately downplaying its achievements. They probably have much more GDP than what is reported in public. They are probably already ahead of US. If Indians chose the one-party goverance model, India would have progressed lot.

The mix is wild. Super stylish modern architecture, mass produced appartement blocks, historical buildings, crazy infrastructure, beautifull parks.. I like that alot. The coherence of for example European cities is also nice, but chaos is more thrilling. The only downturn I see here is that the cities are vast and very car dependent. A bit more density whould be good.

Nanjing( the South Capital ) is one of the only two cities named ending by Jing(capital) in china, which was the capital of several dynasties. As a Nanjing citizen I love this city. Though the GDP of Nanjing only ranked 9 or 10 among all cities, Nanjing has beautiful environment and top tier education level. A city in a forest, a city with history and innovation, thats my home town.

Worked in Jiangsu university (close to Nanjing) for years; Nanjing is vibrant city, former capitol city of China, it's a walled city as well, it has nice airport, flying in and out of city, the city on the river, and of course, Nanjing means south capital, I missed Nanjing.

If you talk about Nanjings rich culture and history would be nice to show some historic buildings that represent that. All i saw was a sea of soulless apartment towers and commieblocks with a few fancy designed modern skyscrapers sprinkled here and there. That did not look like an interesting city at all.
