Lazy eye - A term heard quite often but understood without much clarity. the medical term for Lazy eye is Amblyopia. Lazy eye essentially means an eye that lacks full visual potential. Though this condition entails certain implications on the eye, the primary issue lies in the processing of images by the brain; the brain tries to block the signals it is receives from the weaker eye so as to gain information from the sharper images it receives from the better eye. As a consequence, the weaker eye becomes lazy.

I have a lazy eye it turns in. Wear glasses. But went for consultation to have an opetation to straighten my eye but the surgeon said i will need 2 operations one to straighten my eye and then one to correct my eye placement as he said it will be higher than my other eye. Ive never heard of this beofe is it correct

@@jobsadda37 yeah I have lazy eye as well. Vision therapy helps at young age and to those with low level amblyopia but won't help regain vision completely.

Hey doc...i think there is a term called Eye dominant one of our eye is more dominant to precision and detail and non dominant eye is FOCUSSES more on peripheral and surroundings..either you are right eye dominant or left eye dominant... then what is this concept lazy eye ? whats the difference between non dominant eye and lazy eye ?
