That is a very good topic. My dad is as narcissistic as it can be like my siblings. I encountered so many narcissists that I’m grateful to not have become declared insane by now.The best way to piss off a narcissist is to have a personality and be as genuine as possible because that can’t be faked and keeping your cool because he or she thrives on emotion,thus provoking an emotional reaction that makes us look bad. Sarcasm is awesome,because they are not intelligent enough to pick the nuances and watch them get pissed.Insulting them in a very calm way actually works.In reality,they’re weak POS.However,like you said,narcissists are excellent at adapting like vermin and are harder to detect.My dad is an overt narcissist who can go covert.He alternates between the two!One sibling has moved on to completely covert and I have to give it to him,he is pretty good at it. If anyone wants to overcome narcissistic abuse,he or she has to realize that narcs are cowards and it’s not worth it giving them importance.Give it to kind people and they exist and don’t worry about pleasing people that don’t really know you,the cream will rise at the top! Btw,it is essential to survive their anger phase.In my experience,they want to manipulate so that he or she can control the situation.In most cases,it’s posturing.

Perhaps more useful would be showing them information and telling them “Hey, you must be an empath, watch this!” Admittedly, I’m not certain how that’d work out in practice, but it may be very entertaining watching them twist themselves into knots trying to play the part, but failing hard. My thoughts here (again, not tested) is to use reverse psychology in gaslighting them to fake it until they make it, or… explode trying.

Great topic. Ironically, I started listening about lectures on narcissism when my former narcissist boss sent me a link to such a lecture. She liked to talk about how she is constantly the victim of narcissists. In a way she is, because there are others who are more ruthless than her and successfully seek to exploit her. Narcissists learn about narcissism because they want to learn hot to hide their personality disorder, while also trying to cure themselves. But just like with alcoholics and drug abusers, they can't hide just because they study their own behavior. And they aren't honest enough to themselves to see the problems, nor patient enough to study deeply enough.

@dontbelongherefromanother4 жыл бұрын
I believe it because narcs want to do all the things that are the opposite of narc characteristics. However, it all changes once the relationship is stable, and they feel comfortable with their partner. At this point, there is no need to wear an acting mask, and narcs remove it. Sad, that most narc victims become trapped and confused and can't simply walk away. The narc has full control over their minds, and what is believable or not. My ex narc boyfriend told me that his ex told him he was a psychopath in the beginning of our relationship, but I hadn't seen his dark side until later. Also, I noticed in this relationship he would bring up past occurrences at a later time about something I did that I wasn't aware was a problem. I found myself always apologizing for trivial things, but as it kept coming, I began to reflect to determine the seriousness of them. It was then that I realize there was control and humiliating factors on his behalf and broke off the relationship. I just could not deal with. Yes, I’ve come across a few narcissists, in the comments area, of some YT channels. One in the past couple of days and one that, a few months ago, was definitely messed up. Got into an exchange with me, projected his/her issues onto me and, when all was said and done, they were saying, “See everyone. Now, we know who the real narcissist is. They felt they had me because I didn’t follow victimhood rules of being afraid of the narcissist. That me saying that I’d back one into a corner was proof that I was the narcissist, when the woman I backed into a corner at work had tried to smear me in a meeting. I don’t feel bad at all for doing so, she told me she’d never bother me again and another coworker had noticed that she seemed to test each person, to see what she could get away with. But, this poor person who projected onto me? I felt nothing but pity for them. I let them go nuts trying to smear me. No one else seemed much to either notice or, perhaps, understood what that person was doing. The only reason I didn’t bother is because they don’t know me so, they’re smearing someone who couldn’t even care. If their life was as bad as they’d said and their head that jacked up, with no consequence to me, let them have that invisible win. Poor thing. But, if we were face to face? Poor nothing.

Makes it impossible for me to even talk to him without him turning it back on me. Never takes responsibility and always has an answer(not an honest answer but is smart enough to know I can’t immediately answer). Come back again with evidence to prove him wrong and he shifts to something else, not addressing the first. I have a sibling, a sister, who is a Narcissist/Sociopath. Her life revolves around deceiving her "friends" on social media, primarily on Facebook. She plays the part of the confidant, the victim, the oppressor, the strong independent woman, the vulnerable female, the poor pitiful abused child, the hero who has to constantly save the day for others. She's very good at projecting the image that she "cares about people" but it's all just a series of illusions. What she cares about is gaining the upper hand over the people she identifies as weak-minded potential targets. I put her on notice over 11 years ago, refusing to accept the gifts, the favors, and the phony caring. To this day she still tries to weasel her way back into my life so she can continue playing the same games, insisting to others (behind my back, of course) that I'm an out-of-touch with reality narcissist. I prefer to keep a comfortable amount of distance between us because, as far as I'm concerned, she's dangerous.

Nothing more difficult to do than analyse yourself. I recall a Psychology Student who was requested to do a Final Paper on herself. He did not word it that way. He very skilfully worded the assignment. It was her! A very clever Lecturer. It took her months and months and in the end submitted something. Ended up passing but never practised Psychology. She was a monster who shared accommodation with my son. He laughed about the struggle she had. She must have gained some insight into herself.

I'm sure my ex (narcissist) is educating herself about her behavior, because she is an expert at using her behaviors. She is a retired educational administrator that researches everything. As my devaluation began, she would ask what I knew of devaluation, manipulation and gaslighting. Followed later by her starting to exercise these tactics and then, of course, shifting the narrative on me. No contact is only option.

Rule #1 -Never tell a narcissist they are narcissists (this is hard, and I'm guilty of falling for this, so just try to avoid it), but even more importantly, NEVER EVER tell a narcissist you are doing research about narcissists. But again -if you do, NEVER EVER EVER call them out on things they specifically do and then explain/inform them of what you have specifically learned regarding their behavior. Some narcissists will be either too lazy or too arrogant (or both) to follow up, but some will be provoked in engaging in some research and then proclaim themselves to be experts on narcissism and then use the knowledge against you to get an upper hand. It is vital to be covert with them.

I don't think is possible. I mean, they might get into these channels but just for laughs or pick up new ideas but they will grow bored and thinking they cannot be fooled so why listening to channels that only give them methods they are artist at since childhood. They will think no channel can teach them anything they have not mastered already. They cannot be constant because they-know-it-all. In order to learn you need a bit of humbleness, exactly what they lack.

God says that fools despise wisdom and instruction and narcissist are fools. So don’t expect them to listen to instruction from narcissist resources or from ways to tell how to recover from narcissist abuse. A person who doesn’t have an identity and who lives in the dark are easily exposed and seen by those of us who choose to live in Jesus in the light and exposes all darkness

Anyone else i say the word “narcissist” to,half the time never even heard it before.. but my ex narc ALREADY KNEW the traits it consisted of and all. 😣🤦🏽♀️

This was a very interesting topic. I dated a woman for only 3 months and she had many of the symptoms of NPD. Constant nitpicking, gas lighting, belittling, magical thinking and incredibly passive aggressive behaviour. She even told me that she felt that something was not right with her. Interesting thing was, she was only like that about 60 to 70 percent of the time. It was really perplexing. I began studying her as I was dating her and she actually looked physically different to me when her mood changed. I found her incredibly attractive but her features would take on a sinister finish when she was in "narc" mode. When I finally walked out after the 3 months, she called me a narcicisst and that prompted me to research the term because no one had ever called me that before. About a week later I tried to ask her out again after her birthday and I was discarded. Now that I watched several hundred hours of video on the topic and read multiple articles, I am pretty certain that she has NBD and I feel very bad for her. How do I convince that she should get help? I have not made any contact in over a month but I do still think of her, especially now that I understand it is a mental illness.

Being educated on narcs, just knowing their cookie cutter predictable patterns. Know yourself and be confident in who you are. I am not perfect, but I also know I'm not a narc. I did not lie, cheat or steal from him, like he did to me. My desire is to have good relationships based on trust and truth, to care and be there for others and them for me. I'm not needy and I don't ask for much. That is all I need to have the strength and confidence to protect myself when it comes to dealing with the narc. I know the narc who was recently in my life has enemies. And his enemies are slowly becoming my allies. Not necessarily my true friends, but sort of like shadow angles. They are my kryptonite to the narc because he knows I'm not like a small lamb grazing in the meadow unaware the wolf is watching and waiting. The wolf is concerned that I'm a trap and to stay far away. Find their Achilles heel and aim for it when you need to. Find a way to stay a step ahead. When I speak to the enemy of the narc I know, it's in public, and the flying monkeys become my tool to report to the narc which should trigger him to become paranoid. There are subtle ways that show the narc not come near. I'm 100% gray rock and 100% no contact but I am also aware that he and his flying monkey are around.

@Pat Coco I believe I have some low level narc traits that are brought out when around another narcasisst. And I think that I have repeatition compulsion so I either take on the codependent role or the narc role. I think it is naive to underestimate this phenomenon. I watched a marriage of two grandiose narcs end badly within the first year. He went into therapy a broken man and came out as an even stronger controlling narc as he was now armed with clinical terms and relationship building models. All put to excellent use in his third marriage.

My ex called me and everyone he didn't like a narcissist. They always blameshift and name-call anyway, so it doesn't really matter, unless their new target is uneducated about it and then they can gaslight that person into believing they are. I know my ex is capable of doing that and that's what's so dangerous about it.

But even if you don't think you are a narcissist, would that still make you a narc? I mean, I would like to think I'm a good person but at the same time, I question if I have been good to others. I question if I had displayed narc behavior. So, can you truly know if you're a narc or not? Yes, the narc may not think they are a narc but doesn't everyone do that? It's just confusing when you think about it, at least from my point of view it does. Does anyone else understand or feel the same way when this is thought about?

Why should the narcissist be any different.. questions to ask (if anyone wants to be bothered) is are they researching for personal growth OR to find new ways to deceive their source 🤔.. I agree with what she's saying But I also think.if the narsist calls the victim a narsist That can also be a positive The victim then will probably go online and Google the word and be able too understand what he's doing These videos are fabulous for healing And working out what these people are doing Narsists can get cleverer with knowledge and age but trust me there madness and crazy behaviour will Always show through eventually They are there own worst enemys If I look back there was 4 clear signs before I even went on the date with him That this person was not healthy except I hadn't watched the videos too make the connection They are always bad feelings in your gut as well that are ignored These videos are fabulous for helping vulnerable people get free of these toxic individuals If enough people get educated on the subject these toxic wasters will have no where too go anymore too play there games When they leave your life gets happier fuller and richer from being out of there spiders web and out of the prison sentence that they bestowed upon you They are there own worst enemy and there poison always surfaces people feel them and no they don't feel right Big kisses and hugs everyone
