I know nascar fans in particular like to be edgy and pretty cold especially toward cats for some reason, but let’s all just take solace in the fact that even though it was unfortunate, that cat did not suffer in death at all. Like, cats get hit at moderately low speed every day and suffer for minutes or hours after, this legend went to be with Dale in milliseconds, may we all be so lucky. F

I understand what you are saying, but if I am locked in a room for 10 minutes, with a bunch of people shooting at me, and missing. Then someone gets a clean kill shot. If you want to think about however long it was on the track which we don’t actually know how long it was on the track, that’s on you. It maybe was out there 30 seconds before impact. Maybe two laps. My comment stands, rip the cat, it was over quick. Plus that cat had seen some shit, from the close ups of its face, it had a mark in the left ear and exposed skin on the nose from being a stray, I can only imagine it’s been around the crazy Inland empire highways before that divide most of the area, or at the very least the busy streets. Rip the ally cat and hopefully rip your need to argue a mute point.

A fan might have sent in audio from a scanner with recording capability. The only handheld ones I could find online are perhaps the Uniden BCD436HP or Uniden SDS100 which have recording capability via an SD Card. They are quite expensive compared to other scanners, but not necessarily out of reach for NASCAR's core demographic to purchase (and cheaper for Diehards rather than rent a Racing Electronic scanner).

All I know is someone in nascar needs to be fired. The fact that an animal was able to get into a live track like that shows complete incompetence, as per usual on the part of nascar. You have to be proactive in stopping that. If that cat had gone under a car, steering gone and you have a massive crash. It’s happened before and by sheer luck didn’t happen here. As a racer myself, I wouldn’t race in nascar for the simple fact that I think they are completely incapable of keeping their drivers safe. They’ve shown it time and time again.
