I have this aspect. It’s such a dreamy idealistic aspect. I’ve recently learned this about myself and have become more realistic about what actually is. I have this aspect and I have never heard anything more true than this... I can't believe this is actually a thing in my horoscope and not just me being deluded. I always need to FEEL, I need to have that "magic", something bigger, special that feels like the magic from childhood when we were playing out stories... and it's not a thing that seems to exist in reality. I have this aspect and your words truly describe my attitude in love. All my relationships ended after only a few months because I felt disappointed by the other person. "love is not infatuation" this is truly something I have to learn. For the first weeks I'm overly excited, I feel like I've finally found "The one" and then I start seeing their flaws and I don't accept them bc they do not match the high standards I have in my head. Looking back now, it truly is sad because I met some amazing guys that I pushed away for stupid reasons. Even if I felt good when I was with them I just wanted more, more, and more. And then I end up with nothing. So many regrets... But grateful I've figured it out now that I'm still young (I'm 21). Hi jewel. can you please do the venus square uranus aspect whenever you can please. i have been very tolerant towards a venus square neptune, venus square uranus, venus square mars person, he hurt me a lot. A LOT. but i chose to love him because i know he must have so much going on inside of him, eventhough seeming selfish sometimes and he even admitted he was a narcissist 2 days ago. and although he is very passive and mostly gave me some suffering periods i believe we all grow through suffering,because healing can only happen through suffering. i know he must have so much inner turmoil inside of him so i dont want to give up on him and im also growing a lot from our connection. i believe we dont fall in love, we grow in love!. what would you recommend though? I got this aspect and I am terrified of disappointment in love. Other things I think are due to my venus-neptune square: My love for Disney, Music, and the fear of abandonment in relationships. When I'm infatuated with someone I automatically see them through the lens of nostalgia, as if I've already lost them. I know someone with this and he says he will never get into a relationship that isn't exactly like a Hollywood movie, and start like one. He gets *furious* when confronted it's utterly unrealistic. He himself is abusive in relationships and simply pretty insane with emotional regulation of a baby, not even a toddler who can hold back a little bit. He also gossips like a B and thrives on ruining people's reputations behind their back. But he's a phenomenal actor and extremely charismatic and talented performer. This description was spot on. This guy has had like 80 or perhaps more dating relationships and always becomes and abusive and leaves them because he's handsome, intelligent and charismatic and he always thinks he can do better. Haha shit. I have this as my most exact aspect, with a sun and ascendant ruled by Venus. So I assume then that this situation applies not only to love, but also to the self-concept. This makes sense in my life. I've had a lot of harsh realizations when it comes to "wherever you go, there you are." I repeatedly convince myself that as soon as I have the perfect job, city, degree, car, whatever, then everything else will be fixed. Meditation has taught me that truly all that matters is personal perception of the moment and doing as best as possible in each moment.

Me and my boyfriend both have this placement so we both have conflicting views of how love should be and our expectations and we both always feel we fall short of each other’s expectations. We both feel the need to stand firm to what we believe it is to. It’s actually quite conflicting we both kinda have this fantasy that we both saw crumble in front of us I’m starting to greatly understand and see this and the faults within me and I think he is starting to too. We have both a lot of the same moon opposition placements as well... and we both have our moon in cancer. We bump heads I think a lot because of this 🙄 but it also makes us feel super close. Interesting enough our mothers are quite similar in having mental issues, alcohol problems and were abused. Moon aspects have a lot to do with family influences. I have this aspect, but thank God I also have my Venus sextile Saturn and trine Jupiter, which both give me a more balanced viewpoint on love and relationships. I do like the trappings of infatuation and romance, but I also know that there's really work that needs to be done for a relationship to thrive. Unfortunately, I feel that this aspect makes me more forgiving than I should be and more prone to idealizing. This is me! Last summer I was insisting I had found my twin flame soul mate! I was chuckling as well! I think I learned early that love was when you work really hard and someone sees how hard your working and they reciprocate with unconditional affection! That just came to me recently. This placement along w/ others that make it better/worse require so much inner work and self clarity to work through bc it also creates distortion w/ how we view and love ourselves! I have this placement and it took me a VERY long time to work through it (Venus in Pisces 29 degrees to add more idealism and lesson to the mix! plus Mercury in Pisces) and ultimately resolving my own issues was what has allowed me see things for what they actually are vs want them to be. Meditation and mindfulness practices have been key!! "The Presence Process" 2nd edition by Michael Brown has a tremendous help and has a breathing mediation in it too!

Omg hit the nail on the head.... guy I was seeing was dreamy and seemingly perfect (my moon is conjunct neptune so I try to see the best in everyone. who knows what was really happening) then he initiates our first disagreement. instead of going along with his accusations i stood my ground then he blocked me.... haven't heard from him since... so i look up his chart and he has venus square neptune. The not wanting to relationship build because thinking love should be easy and running away the second love doesn't go exactly how you want.... yep all him. I have friends with venus conjunct neptune and they're actually okay with red flags and ignore too many in order to achieve their fairytale. Venus square neptune sees every single little thing as a red flag and will never get their fairytale. They want unconditional love without loving unconditionally back. Venus conjunct neptune will actually love unconditionally even if it hurts them in the long run.

Good Lord, I've been with this for the last 2 years and he has natal lillith in the 8th. Stalking, stealing everything that isn't bolted down, revenge porn, phone hacking, its the most insane experience and I'm a Scorpio Ascendant who thought I'd seen it all. This hit me like a brick. This is my natal Venus (which is also in Aries and I’m a double Taurus...good goddess!) and I recently fell in love (but did I? Who knows? Not me!) with another Venus square Neptune who shares the same rising sign as me as well (Gemini) and our Sun and Venus are opposition Neptune. Within a few dates we were so similar I was asking myself if she was my twin flame LOL We both know we’ve suffered through illusions and are trying to heal the lovesick factor so that’s a start but I’ve also been calling this my “last hurrah” attempt at this thing called love 😔 I really am trying to work on self love as a potential fix but it feels almost impossible as being loved by someone else feels like more than a desire. Praying that meditation helps but does anyone have any other suggestions? ps I’ve also heard this described as the astrology of unrequited love and that’s also true for me. Always want what I can’t have and if I finally get “it” suddenly I don’t want it anymore. The worst aspect ever! @@user-eo9to7wd2t I've gained a more realistic lens on my romantic relationships & attractions finally but that only came after some extremely painful and frankly traumatizing lessons taught to me by a trio of narcissists 🙃 I am thankful to have gained my peace and sanity back and have better appreciation for self love but I haven't connected with anyone since. Love life feels dry [and frankly non-existent] without that "sparkle" but that sparkle was a product of my being drawn to emotionally unavailable partners and creating an idealistic love story from my imagination. So after writing all this I guess I am still coming to terms with this placement 😅

Hi Jewel, Thanks for another great video! I'm wondering: do “easy” aspects between Venus/Neptune and other planets /points make the square between them easier to deal with? In other words, if neither Venus or Neptune are “afflicted” in any other way what effect might this have?

+Megan Murphy Typically, Yes. But you also have to consider the nature of Neptune. It is about illusion and not easily seeing the truth through what we would like to be the truth. Sometimes easy aspects make this worse because there is no friction involved- no way that the world is disagreeing with a heavily neptunian perception. So, sometimes easy aspects can make the Neptunian assumptions one has seem even more real because they "work" for them. Do you see how that works?

Yes, I see what you mean, that makes a lot of sense! Personally, I have an 8th house Venus, 5th house Neptune square...Venus is more or less “easy” but Neptune has a lot of semi-squares and sesquisquares. I identify with just about everything you touched upon - in particular, living for an idealized future (“what could be”). Thanks again!

I have this aspect (venus in libra in the 9th house square neptune in capricorn in the 12th) and it is difficult. But, if you have a strong saturn in your chart it can help you minimize its effects

Would Venus section saturn in the 12th mean that a hard lesson in this is likely part of my saturn return? I met a person and we swore we where souls mates and looking back it was smack dab in 2014 turns out we are having this long awful breakup. Saturn literally aspects everything in my chart and... Everything is changing! Anyway good video, pre Saturn return I would have turned it off within a minute though!

I have Venus in 7th house with Pisces ascendant and my Venus is in the sign of Scorpio which makes love all the more difficult for me! I have Scorpio moon which makes it quite difficult for me to trust anyone.. My Venus trines ascendant and my Venus also squares jupiter (in the sign of Leo), and I also have this venus-neptune placement which makes me think that I am never ever going to have love because of such high standards, which btw I also apply to my friendships and make it all difficult! This is by far the most relatable astrology video for me. I have this aspect. Yes, i have an imaginery lover that i am very loyal to. Since i was a little girl i've always dreamed about love and it became such an untouchable thing for me. It became almost like air. I felt like i could find it but i was so lost. I had so many dissapointments about love. For example there was a boy in my class, i don't know why but i felt like he could be the one even though i had never even had a proper conversetion with him. I started to dream about him just because i felt like it! It is insane and so dangerous. I know i am hurting myself by doing this but it is so hard to let go. I am not sure if i want to let it go.

Dammmm this is where my new rewired psyche is battleing with and hence me searching... Is it due to my previous narcissism ego not want to acknowledge truth .... Or I know the truth of why she is confused in her perception of materialistic love due to conditioning and pressure from parents... So in my delusion all state I want to say that I had to work true my betrayal ...abandonment issues now after the separation. And I found that I love her for who she is in side... Her self.. In the mornings. With out makeup... Or with.. If she does or don't do chores I found that I need her to stay in her hart and soul who she is and not hide it or feel assumed... Self doubt and low esteem from parents side made her pull up a mask tohide herself as it is shameful to be who u are when u are at your house with ure loved ones as society does not approve....
