I grew up on Schnitzels!! My grandma is 100% German and one of her secrets was to add fresh lemon zest into the breadcrumbs! It’s subtle but it really does help bring the lemon flavor up a notch! 🙃

Sharkey at 0:12 and 09:36... I LOVE THIS RECIPE!! It's so easy and quick to make. I make chicken sandwiches with the same recipe on a Brioche bun with lettuce, tomato, and a mixture of chunky blue cheese dressing with a bit of mayo. I have also done the same thing by adding some blackened seasoning on the chicken before frying. It's amazing! I can hardly wait til my book arrives. It will be awesome to have the recipe by the stove instead of on my computer.

This was SUCH a crispy, juicy, lemony (in other words, delicious!) late lunch for us - so much so we ate it for dinner, too!! To your point, the lemon really makes it special. But so does your use of panko and how you cook it just enough for it to be done but not so much it sacrifices those luscious insides. I wish I had parsley to round it all out and make it pretty like you did but next time! Once again, one of your recipes was a hit in our home! Thank you :)

Hi there. I am from Israel where chicken schnitzel with chips is every kid's favourite meal. It is one of the most popular dishes in Israel. To upgrade your coating I woud suggest a few options that could also be combined. To the flour mixture you could also add paprika or curry powderor garam masala or badically anything. The eggs can be enriched with sweet chilly sauce, teriyaki, minced garlic and/or mustard. There breadcrumbs can be mixed with seasame seeds and different dried herbs such as basil or oregano. After frying the schintels you can freeze them and thaw them in the oven.

Yummy. I make Schnitzel all the time, I like to season the Chicken (or Pork) with salt and pepper AND the Eggs with seasonings (I actually ad Milk and lemon juice to the eggs and let it sit and get thick and buttermilky) with some "Cajun" spice mix in the breadcrumbs. OPIMH (Other People in my House) like Applesauce with their Schnitzel, rather than Lemons.

I believe we made your chicken schnitzel years ago. We finally made it the other day again, and it was amazing, with of course lots of squeeze of lemon. :) Enjoying this dish, just reminded me of the times in the beer garden in Austria & Switzerland with some of the family, seeing all the beautiful greenery, and healthy cows. On top of that, the amazing fairytale “Snow White” houses, with the dozens of flowers hanging on the windows. Good memories. 😌😌 Simple, yet fun & yummy dish. :) Thanks.

When I pound chicken breasts or other items, I like to wrap the (flat) pounder surface in plastic wrap, and just place the breast on the cutting board. This uses much less wrap than double layering, and is very easy to clean up, and faster as you don't have to fuss with the wrap for each piece.

I've done this for years but not just schnitzel. I do this method for chicken parm. The only thing i do differently is pulsing the panko in my nutri-bullet to make it fine - i find that it coats the chicken better. 😊

Hey from Adam in Newfoundland again. That looks really good. And what you are calling Fry Sauce is what I grew up with but we called it tartar sauce and was used mostly for deep fried cod and dipping homemade fries. Not sure if mom ever used mayo but definitely miracle whip with ketchup .. I will definitely try with mayonnaise and ketchup when I deep fry cod next
