It’s not that easy😂 every car has its own level of difficulty and has its differences and similarities, even If it’s a engine replacement or an engine swap, Where you take a engine that didn’t come factory with the car and place and fit it to run like it belongs there. It just depends on your skill and knowledge.

@baconintheoven47172 жыл бұрын
Yea but he made it seem/sound easy in the video when it isn’t. to someone new that’s getting into engine swapping, hearing this would make it sound like a breeze. But at the same time you have to have some knowledge on cars and/or know how mechanical things work and operate, in this case engines, before jumping straight to engine swapping. It’s something not every one can do, but can for sure learn to do.

The cool thing about clips like these, is that they give you a basic layout to the job, giving viewers a small boost in confidence to take that first step that they have been so unsure about. Don't worry. You will be challenged, but you have to return to that simplicity every now again and keep it going if you truly want to finish a project. You 100 percent will need help, so make friends abroad, in the forums, in the comments, etc. Be flexible and stay excited about the end result. Have a good day. 😅

generic, but youre not wrong. if you want easy, go with a 90s honda. my first few swaps were on those. used a 96 Si (yes we had them in 96 in canada, but it had a d16y8 in it) with a B18a1, engine harness for the y8 modified to work on the b18, and a computer from a 98 integra. 12 hours later it was driving, by modifying the d16 shift linkages, modifying the rear engine/trans mount, and making the drivers side mount of out steel. total cost of swap, $550. my second swap was a 302 ford into a miata, followed by a dodge 440 into a square s10. its all fun and games when you have access to a junkyard. last one i did was a complete AWD and 5 speed 2.0L 1998 Rav4 drivetrain swap into a 98 auto 1.5L toyota tercel. what a beast! also put in a 2.0" suspension lift and some small 15" all terrain tires. would of made a sick rally car if it had a cage and seats, but it was my daily driver lol. that one took a week on and off

Depends on the motor though. If you're swapping a carbed motor to bigger carbed motor, theres not much you'll need and it's a simple bolt in from my experience. But a motor dealing with all these wires is what I'm afraid of, me and my father got a project and this is something we're about to face.

The main things you need is the transmission mounts, the transmission that'll hold up to your power, radiator, motor mounts, longer or shorter drive shaft, starter if needed, oil pan so it fits on your crossmember/frame, wiring harness, computers, fuses if needed, but all if the wiring is if you're not dealing with a carbed motor. If you're not dealing with a donor vehicle which is cheaper, you'll need everything in this video. If it's a donor vehicle which is what me and my father using, all you'll need is to flash the computer and have the regular harness turned into a custom standalone harness along with adjustable motor mounts. All the other stuff you might need can be taken from one vehicle transferred to another. Grabbing a donor vehicle is a WHOLE lot easier and cheaper that way.
