For anyone who wasn’t around at that time, it was a highly contested and controversial time. It’s essentially like Norm making jokes about BLM and George Floyd right after it happened. I think it’s great I’m just saying, some of these jokes were powerful just because of the culture at the time.

One of the first (and only) times in the modern era a guest on a major network talk show brought up a valid point that forced the hosts to show how extremely politically biased they were in a very real and embarrassing way. Barb Walters made herself look like an awful, miserable staunch leftist b1tch there and Norm was just loving that she reacted that way…..the audience was loving that Barb was actually all butt-hurt over it in spite of her feeble attempts to cover it with fake attempts at humor. “You can’t make those kind of accusations here!!” Norm went right ahead and shoved the first amendment down her dusty old throat hole!!

That video is so dense. All eras, different norms, different settings. One of the best ones out there. That man was so free it was scary. The sparkle in his eyes was so intense it's mesmerizing. Brought me so much joy. Thank you for this. It musn't ve been hell to be around him. You can't be flying over the earth like that and have the patience for mundanities. When people tell me comedy is not necessary, and that it's just jokes, I think of him, and I know it's more than that. In it's purest form, it can become Joy.

“You’ve read six books in your life. What kind of women would be attracted to you?” “Well, I have a lot of money.” This is so brilliant and witty it makes my head spin. She is insulting his manhood by saying he’s not well read (which is absolutely is) and implying that he’s not intelligent and therefore not worth the attention or affection of any woman. He then, in an instant, turns it around to a burn on women by pointing out that he has a lot of money and what women want is completely stupid anyway. He would not have attacked women if a woman hadn’t attacked his manhood first. Just perfect.

I became a fan of Norm's in the late 80's when he was on MTV's Half Hour Comedy Hour when I was under the age of 10. His humor is so unexpected, you don't know if it's gonna be a lame dad joke or the most controversial thing you can imagine. Instead of making us laugh, about half the time he's laughing at us. And I've always loved that.
