Probably too expensive but any oil that advertises 25,000 mile oil changes has to be bad for a dealership that thrives on customers not knowing their maintenance schedule. Every car I’ve owned in the last 20 years has some kind of switch that requires a reset every 5000 miles. They use that to get people in there so they can “maintain” their car.

Full synthetic is not 100% synthetic. I use Amsoil in my vehicles. No problems at all and the lifespan is better than any other motor oil I have used. Believe what you want, but rest assured, it works and it does the job well. Why is it not recommended? Think about money lost from less frequent oil changes and cars lasting years past their prime. Dealerships want you to "upgrade" every so many years. Don't drive that outdated car. It's your choice. See my playlist if you like.

I stopped changing oil in 1963 using Standard Delo 100 w 30 and a Frantz oil cleaner. All I use now is Walmart Super Tech. I have Motor Guard filters a Austrailian Jackmaster Classic some Gulf Coast juniors and a flat head Ford V8 canister filter converted to use 4 1/2 inch Scott 1000. I think the oil filters are more important than the oil. Put 250.000 miles on a 84 Subaru with no oil drains using Mobil 1 and a Frantz oil cleaner. I had Amsoil in the 5 speed. I was supposed to go back for a valve adjust. The dealer never saw me again.Never removed the valve covers.Took about 20 years. There was a time when Mercedes cars came new with re refined oil. When done right re refind oil is better than the first refined.. I was a mechanic for a re refiner. Most of it goes to the major oil companies.

I have been running Amsoil in everything, for over 15 years, from gas, diesel, MX bikes both 2 & 4 stroke, quads and many of my race cars. Most over 800hp. A friend runs Dominator SAE60 in his 4500hp car and loves it. Never had any oil or lubrication failures or abnormal wear. When a 2 stroke can get over 200 hours of severe MX racing and still have compression 20psi under from a new piston/ring rebuild, that's saying something. Dominator 2 stroke had no spooge, piston and powervalves were near perfect and cylinder wall was still like new.

I tried all of the over the counter synthetic oils on different vehicles over the years. I can honestly say that I am very pleased when switching to Amsoil signature series. The cars after switching just seemed to run better smoother and stronger. I also never had any issues running amsoil ever. Probably why manufacturers don't want us to use it to because I definitely think helps keeping your engine running longer. Amsoil is definitely not cheap but hey you get what you pay for.

Amsoil, Red Line, and Motul are some of the best lubricants out there. I have used pretty much all the oils out there, Eneos, Mobil 1, Castrol Edge, Pennzoil Ultra, Royal Purple, and others. I always ended up coming back to a mix of Amsoil, Red Line, and Motul lubricants. I primarily use Amsoil Signature for my engine oils, Red Line for my manual transmissions (MTL) and Hypoid gear oil for diffs, and Motul 600/660 for brake fluid.

@@johnr7022 Yeah the penzoil ultra platinum is not bad. True. Though given the choice I'd still go Amsoil or Motul. Especially cause I love Amsoil's Ea oil filters...and I'm an Amsoil member which gets me preferred cheaper pricing, and quick free next day or 2 day max, delivery. If you have at least 2 vehicles that you service twice a year each, it makes financial sense to join. I use much shorter oil change intervals, 5,000 for family daily drivers, and 3,000 for my FL5 Type-R, so I change fluids more often than twice a year. Not following the manufacturer specified extended drain intervals is one of the primary reasons you can really extend the life of your modern powertrain reliably.

I have used Amsoil since 1978. They and Mobil 1 forced a response from the other oil companies to make a better product than they were. Oil back then left a lot to be desired. Through the years Valvoline was the best overall conventional oil there was. Amsoil is about quality and they continually push to make a better product. Now that they are recognized as a top tier lubricant, the others are forced to offer better products of their own. Instead of taking dumdassed pot shots at them. There is no oil that voids a warranty. All that criticize Amsoil should be thanking them. No oil company offers more information to their products and direct technical support than Amsoil. Tear down an engine that uses Amsoil compared to other oils and it is very clear, how much they reduce wear and deposits on daily driven vehicles. I have used many fine synthetic oils, bought them when they were cheap, etc. on a direct injection vehicle, I will only use Amsoil.

Cutco is also MLM, and I got looped into that for a few weeks out if high school, but that sort of thing skeezes me out. I can't deal with people with alterior motives. I do like Amsoil. I have zero complaints with the product aside from the price. Looking at more real world style tests, they always do very well, and their filters are very good. I have run extended drain intervals on most things I own (three cars, 2 semi trucks, a school bus, and numerous smaller engines, diesel and gas) and never one single issue. They always start and their starts are a lot less dry than with other oils. Never blown an engine. And the one car that I had that went full life cycle was totaled at 330k miles with zero issues, oil only changed once per year. The only vehicle I haven't used Amsoil in is my 6.7 Ford because I don't trust it for fuel dilution and I want to get through the warranty, I use Rotella T6, but still with Amsoil filter.

Today I purchased a big load of Amsoil Signature Series motor oil 5W-30, and 0W-30 viscosity. Enough for one year and two cars. Shipping was free (with over $ 130.00 (CAD) of purchase), and becoming a "preferred" customer I got a discount. I would pay much more for the top-grade Pennzoil, Mobil 1, Royal Purple, or Red Line oil in the local store. The purpose of motor oil is to lubricate, cool, and clean the engine. I don't care about the Amsoil (or anybody else) claims for long drain intervals. Their oil could protect the engine for a long time but how do you clean that engine? I'm still changing oil and oil filters every three months or every 5000 kilometers (3100 miles), whichever comes first.

oil companies will be your best friend (aka "preferred customer") at those change intervals. Im assuming you have NEVER done any independent oil testing to prove your claims or what you THINK is better for your engines. You might be surprised at how long oil change intervals can go and still maintain lubricity, temps and retention of contaminants. Enjoy wasting your CAD $.

@@MrCROBosanceros Just stumbled upon this comment, so I want to clarify some things. First of all, the other guys are right, the oil is good for more than 20 000km in normal driving, no need to change every 5000km. Secondly, european oil change interval can go upwards of 40 000km with some car brands, so even more than 15000 miles. This is ok with a correctly designed engine that works as it should. Unfortunately, often one of these factors fail, and it makes the system more sensitive. I use 35 000 - 40 000 intervals in my work vehicle that sees a lot of miles. No problems at all with good oils. For general, lower milage use, 15 000-20 000 km is ok. Lastly: The fact that you have "never seen" older good running cars in europe are down to a multitude of factors, but for sure not the oil changes. Those factors can be for example export of older cars to other places you didnt visit, more stringent yearly testing of older cars to have them be road legal, etc. On average, european cars are still older than North American market ones. Cheers mate.

Amsoil is fire. I've been using Amsoil now for 2 years plus, on 4 vehicles, and honestly it is by far the best oil ive ever used. It's proven by testing as well, and improves fuel economy a tiny bit. On my vehicles with turbos it eats less oil. The engine runs smoother. Also to me feels like you get a tiny bit more power too, but it may just be the engine running smoother. I do an oil change every 5,000 miles with their 25,000 mile oil and it comes out crystal clean always. But my vehicles have always been well maintained and all my previous oils had similar results maybe just a tad bit darker but nearly the same as new oil. I mean I got no clue, so far i've used the product on 5 vehicles, and 1 rental car since I was going for a very long distance journey and I dont know what was in it and was trying to maximize fuel economy. I've noticed this on a total of 6 engines. Also, even though you feel a change the first time, it's not until about the third change that it seems to be in full swing on your motor.

I'll tell you what, about the price: The Amsoil OE formula is ~$7.30 a quart with the discount -- I can barely get the Auto Zone house brand dino oil for that price. But the real winner is the Signature Series, it's like $11/Qt but it's like 10-20k intervals. I could maybe spend 30% less on the actual oil but I'd have to change it three times more often. Even in my Smart the Amsoil Euro mix was still clean at double the recommended interval. Starting to get toasty and needed a top off, in fairness, but clean enough to not have to worry about sludging my engine up after missing a change and I had a family emergency out of state (which has happened multiple times). I think a lot of people need to look at this stuff like an investment. Nevermind what it saves me in maintenance costs. Better for me than red line even whem red line has a 30% base ester from 15% of amsoil. If the TBN has a good level in the oil analisis is not good enough because TBN goes down with the mileage and TAN increases... So if TAN its too high its dangerous for the engine, means that its too acid... So oil must be changed when the diference between TBN and TAN its close to 20% that it was when the oil is new. Sorry about my bad english.

Well I don’t know the science behind engine oils but I do know this. While using Mobil 1 EP I noticed that I was burning 1/4 qt every 1k. Then switched to Castrol edge and the burning issue improved to close to 1/4 qt every 2500k miles. I now use Amsoil XL and the burning issue is not present anymore even after 6k Miles plus the engine runs a little quieter and my gas mileage improved a little. That tells me that either my Honda pilot is picky when it comes to oil or Amsoil is making a really good oil. That being said I’ve been using Amsoil on the transmission and transfer case as well. If you become a member you get a cheaper preferred customer price I do my own oil changes so I’m saving $$ anyways. In reality if you go to a decent shop for an oil change it will cost more than you buying Amsoil if you DIY.

@@paulmcmorrow9640 - keep in mind that a 5qt bottle of full synthetic is less than $5 more than regular oil and within $3 of synthetic blend! But, allow me to share the response from a 2021 car dealership news article: “As you use your motor oil, contaminants from the combustion process (that is, gasoline exploding in your cylinders) will start to build up in your oil. This is a good thing: it means that those contaminants, moisture, and carbon aren't accumulating on your valves, pistons, and other places they shouldn't be. One benefit of getting an oil change is flushing all of that stuff out. Synthetic oil lasts much longer than conventional motor oil, but it still degrades and loses its lubricating properties as it's used. So, if using motor oil and getting it hot degrades the oil, why does it also go bad after 6 months if you don't drive it a lot? It seems like a paradox, but there's another piece of the puzzle. Something oil does when it gets up to operating temperature is evaporate water. Water gets into the engine through the air intake and other places, since there's always some degree of moisture in the air. When the engine is hot, that water evaporates and is either whisked away into the exhaust or absorbed into the oil. If you aren't driving your car much, condensation can build up in the engine. If you aren't driving very far, the oil doesn't get hot enough to evaporate that water. Exposing the oil to moisture degrades the oil as much as running the engine hard for 5,000 miles. The solution is to flush all that stuff out with fresh oil every 5,000 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first. Thankfully, you don't need to remember. We print both numbers on a sticker for you.”

Amsoil's precise formulation of their products is closely guarded secret with some degree of proprietary ingredients. Why the cost difference between the Signature Series (SS) and the OE? PAOs come in two different varieties: mPAO and a cPAO. Whereas the mPAOs present higher performance qualities (but is more expensive to produce) than the cPAOs, I surmise the SS uses the mPAOs, while they use cPAOs for the OE. Another thing most consumers tend to forget about is that it'll cost you more money in the long run to keep changing cheaper full synthetic/semi-synthetic oils vs a true synthetic. Cheaper oils break down faster, the detergents and additives and base stocks degrade a lot faster and don't have near the drain intervals of other true synthetic oils. Let's not forget the amount of coking deposits cheaper oils leave behind, they have a higher burn rate and oxide easier. As the saying goes, pay once and cry once, or pay a lot more later. Sadly, oil is NOT oil. The best oil's you can buy are group 4/5 Poly Alpha Olefins/Esters. Mineral based oils sold today are nothing more than glorified conventional oils.

Pursuant to a 1990’s law suit between Castrol and Mobil 1, courts ruled that group 3 and 4 base oils are synthetic, therefore any oil that contains one or both of those groups, regardless of proportions, can be called synthetic. So as long as Amsoil contains group 3, even if it’s 100% group 3, they can legally call it 100% synthetic. Thus, 100% synthetic and full synthetic are synonymous. And what is the fuzz about the price, here in Canada signature series are about 17 dollars a quart and other like Pennzoil, Castrol are about 14-15, so that is non existent difference. In my Raptor 6.2 L engine the difference is only 20 dollars so it is not a big deal.

When it's due for an oil change, just grab the cheapest that meets all the specs and approvals. 8000km is my interval. Change it and have a nice day.

You dont need to over pay for oil if you change the oil and filter every 5k miles no matter at what millage the oil manufacturer claims you can use any top tier brand. Amsoil is ridiculously expensive, hard to find and you end up buying online increasing the cost even more adding shipping to the price, Mobil1 recently increased they prices as well but still cheaper than Amsoil for quite a bit and you can find it anywhere. Amsoil signature series claims is good for 15k miles but drains very dark @ 5k miles like any other oil in turbo engines.

Its like putting 87 octaine in a performance vehicle. Or driving any vehicle even Amsoil without proper oil changes If the vehicle is not serviced regularly then the oil is not going to help you save your engine bcz all oils will eventuly break down The viscosity is compromised hence my 2c

OE is not that much more expensive than other store bought oil. The signature series may cost 2x or 2.5x as much , but if you are willing to push it to 25000 miles or once a year then you are saving money especially while some vehicles require the 5000 mile oil change. I generally run OE or XL, but the cleaning agents in signature series is much better so I use it once in a while just to clean excess garbage from my motor. I don't really know the answer to your question about automotive vehicles , but I have heard that some lawn and garden equipment maybe using or are going to use some amsoil products.

The motor has 250K on the clock and numerous transmission swaps but finally found someone who builds a great 68rfe. 908 rwhp and nothing but abuse if you know what I mean. Amsoil has kept the motor in great shape as cylinders/pistons look amazingly well. Had several cylinder head swaps and have inspected everything for wear as this truck sees towing and offroad daily. The mechanics always mention how well things look for a put away wet and dirty truck. Amsoil signature series is what this motor stays with. Extended oil drain intervals (12k) [ with routine oil analysis] is a plus.

@@mikesoychulo Today I called Amsoil customer service and became a "preferred" customer and I made the purchase of their Signature Series Synthetic oil for my two cars. I bought enough oil for one year. That was a big order considering that I change the motor oil and oil filter every three months or every 5000 kilometers (3100 miles), whichever comes first. It wasn't that expensive. Shipping was free and as a "preferred" customer you get up to a 25% discount. But, if I would live in the USA, instead of Canada, or if our border was open again, I would go and get myself Ravenol, probably the best motor oil in the world. Been using Amsoil for 25 years since I was introduced to it by a friend, as a former Harley Davidson biker, I had a 2003 HD Dresser one of 3 bikes, living near the Daytona area Central FLO, put a 100k miles on my 2003, but to the point; I was using HD products in my bike, & I rode quite often with shorts on, & anyone that road the early HD bikes, prior to them installing the heat shield by the seat to protect your inner thighs from the extreme heat from the air cooled engine, I kind of suffered for a while till sitting @ a biker bar chatting with a friend, I was complaining about the heat, he said, switch over to Amsoil, & it will drop your temperature down, so off I went to my local wrench, swapped out my old oil & in with the Amsoil, & I kid you not!!! it dropped the temps down so much my crybaby days ended. From that point on & I have given up bikes due to FLO getting so jam packed with idiots, I now ride in a sports car & SUV, both are running Amsoil, & in my sports car, that typically runs very hot, it dropped the temps down considerably, I could go on & on about the Pro's of Amsoil, & the only downside to Amsoil, is the price!! U will pay dearly for this product, but with that being said & much more educated about Amsoil, it's worth every penny my biker buds & car buffs!!!

Both bikes are technically different and I run these two different oils respectively for lengthy reasons I won’t go into-bottom line, they work very well.
