This could be my new fav vlog of yours and I pretty sure it's because of your wife natural reactions to your surfing and how you edited it to feel real organic by, for example chosing non distracting background music which volume didn't overpower your wife's reaction to your surfing and the sound of the waves and nature. Bravo!

Watch out for the foam: it can be deadly… if you get pushed into even deeper foam where you can’t get on top of by sitting up, you can suffocate. Happened to 5 Dutch very able surfers 2 years ago in a freak accident! Cheers for another great vid!

Love the glove rant!! A good tip for solo sessions in freezing weather is to bring a cooler full of hot water and leave it by your car when you go out. When you get in put your hands and feet in it to regain feeling, then you have enough dexterity to get your wetsuit unzipped (to unlock the car and get your suit/gloves/booties off)!

One response about unexpected emotion, was spot on, something about Celtic music does that to about everyone, my oldest son learned to play bagpipes, and every time I hear him play, I'm in tears, but back to this vlog, nice job Nate, crazy too, is that rock there looks like a quarry for castle building, too cool, this was definitely one of your best

That's a seriously difficult break. I'd say you'd need to watch it for a while then choose the correct take off point, either left or right, to stand any chance of making it, no matter how good you are. It's tempting but it will slam you if you take off in the peak. Whitemill Point, a reef stretching far out to sea at the right hand end of Whitemill Bay, and Scar Farm, another reef, on Sanday, Orkney are worth checking out, same swells as Thurso
