I don't think they are worried about losing the odd entrance fee..... I think there is genuine concern for public safety and security..... i don't think they like seeming as though the auditors mean anything to their day. I understand that. Some of it is human nature. A person turns up, tries to engage and tell you that they are going to do whatever, then after a bit of escalating etc, the staff are proved wrong...I think they then just want to get on with their day, as though the incident never happened. So they don't make sure word gets passed up the ladder, they seem to want to forget about it happening.

For what it is worth, I recently visited Baddersly Clinton, mainly because of my interest, in seeing priest hides, and frankly, I came away very disappointed in the place. Baddersly is stunningly beautiful from the outside, but has little to offer from a historic point of view inside the house. Frankly flying a drone over this property and seeing it from the air, is all one needs to do, certainly not worth paying the admittance price.

So many negative assumptions and stupid subjective paranoias, when it is so obvious that you are not doing anything threatening or dangerous it is obviously waste of time of them to be so on the edge and controlling.
