The whole group is like a finely tuned engine, each having a vital role, all working in harmony to produce that phenomenal sound. Im sure it took years to create and develop. knowing this Bob could take to the stage like a God, fully confident in their ability to move the hearts and souls of any man or woman who came within hearing distance. No one has captured that power ever again, only once was it brought to that height.

Now that you say it like fair I kept thinking about this song even after I listened to it yesterday. I take it as the numbers being his journey towards spiritual enlightenment. It's much deeper than hair and I take it as this song is moreso about his spiritual journey. This journey manifests itself through his hair as freeform (as we Americans call it) locs grow in their own way. When caribbeans mention Babylon, its not a physical place but spiritual. "Natty dreadlock inna Babylon," is what i consider to be spiritual freedom (which is the journey that I mentioned earlier manifesting itself as hair) in the midst of a system that oppresses us as afrikan people. Wow, this song is DEEP! EDIT: this comment was originally a response to another brother. EDIT: When he mentioned going to first street (that was the beginning of his spiritual journey). Then he mentioned, "I've got to make it to 7th street." 7 can be considered to be a number of perfection and it is also the day of the Lord's rest." 21000 miles away from home is considered to be complete perfection because 7 × 3 is 21. And I take the number 3 as confirmation (someone correct me). 21,000 miles away from home means that he yas arrived. Or he's reached his highest self
@SuccessMediaSolutions4 жыл бұрын
"21,000 miles away from home" refers to how far "natty" (Africans) have been take from their land. The next verse, "and that's a long way for natty to be from home" laments the atrocity of enslavement in a foreign land.
