Every young or up and coming Athlete should look up to and follow Paul. He is one of the most intelligent, analytical and professional guys out there. He deserves huge respect. But yeah I'd love to see him on gear. Paul going up a level or 2 is a damn dangerous athlete!!

I wonder if it ever gets to the point that someone natural like Paul (let's assume he is) competes and does ok but then thinks if I just take a tiny bit of this I could close the gap and be competitive with the very top guys. There must be some temptation if it meant the difference between being non competitive and competitive by taking a little bit of sauce.

I reckon, there would be the John Haack effect: everyone said he was on gear in the IFL. Then, he got on gear: and he now benches 272.5 and deadlifts 410kg. Paul would be the strongman John Haack.

Yo Shane, not related to video, but would you get the same or at least similar hypertrophic response by doing 10 sets of 3 (like emoms) instead of doing 3 sets of 10 with normal rest periods? Discussed this with a collegue at work but we are of different opinions, and you are the most knowledgable coach I know, so figured Ill ask ya. Thanks mate
@MSTSystems
@MSTSystems 2 жыл бұрын
It’s hard to answer EXACTLY, loads used would be main difference, 10x3 at higher % vs 3x10 at lower % you would have the difference of myofibrillar / sarcoplasmic response but if the loads were the same then I would look towards density as the guide, e.g how long did it take to complete the total 30 reps. As long as fatigue is built up in the muscle and deeper fibers recruited then the over all response would be similar. It’s pretty complex question randomly with lots of arguments and counter arguments ha

I just read about a study where they researched 10*3 Vs 3*10 at a similar RPE (so different weights on the bar). They found similar hypertrophy for each group, but the group doing 10 sets of triples had much better strength gains, although their workouts were much longer and much more grueling

Everyone is on the gear! 🤣 Love the natty reveals on bloods, tik tok etc. Testosterone is Testosterone. You find out by LEVEL if someone is natty or not. I'm rocking 2200ngdl midweek. By Friday I'm down to 8-900ngdl If I was an influencer or a lifter...I could easily blag a natural Testosterone level...but in reality I'm smashing the testosteroni sandwiches. Ultimately people need to stop being so butt hurt about it. Man up and pin or make the best of what you can without sauce. Jealousy is a fickle endeavour that only effects you. Anyone you are jealous of...your thoughts words or actions affect them not. It only degrades your own soul.

Need one on Felix to. I'm sure he claims natural. With Paul and Felix, how do they go in to these giants live/wsm comps mentally and prepare to compete with other competitors "smashing" the gear. Do they just accept they will never win. It must be hard knowing the top guys are juiced and having to think can I beat that person who is "enhanced"
