Climbing the Rostock Via Ferratta/Eiger North Face (from Kleine Scheidegg, Grindelwald Switzerland)

Join me and Julian as we push the boundaries of Nature. We overnight in the bunk room over the Kleine Scheidegg train stop and hike the Eiger trail to the beginning of the Rostock Via Ferrata which is all above Grindelwald, Switzerland in the heart of the Swiss alps. Kleine Scheidegg is also the train stop to take the train to the highest train station in Europe, the Jungfraujoch-Top-of-Europe on the Jungfrau railway. The Rostock peak is part of the 4000 meter or 14,000 some feet of the North Face of the Eiger.

That fox was beautiful !! The breakfast @1:57 look delicious ! I can't tell you how much i perspired watching this. Growing up I never had a fear of heights But in my golden years now I seem to be fearful of anything high. Love your videos Mr. Taylor !

There are some really amazing via ferratas...the people that make them often include challenges with either technique or simply extreme exposure ! Lol...quite sadistic really! 😀😀😀

As young climbers back in 1974, a few of us tried this route in error. Our aim was the west flank of the Eiger which is possible using this route but which was taking too much time. I recognise many of those shots around where the ladders are. I remember a locked iron door in the rock. I have no idea what it was doing there. Your video brings back good memories. Thanks.

Yes...this was one of the original routes up the eiger! You will need to read Eiger-wall of death...if you have not already!
