So glad I have found someone online who's locs resemble my own. I also oil my scalp, along with my daughter's. Thanks for the video.

Yeh I agree with you , you have to do with what works for you. , I have to keep my sister locs moist with water and then sometimes stay soft fro mixed with Jamaican mango island oil plus Jamaican castor oil and my locs still look like sisterlocs plus they are shiny not dry looking and my scalp feels awesome

I just came across your channel while doing my research on sisterlocks vs micro locks and other locks. I've decided to spend the money and get sisterlocks. I love how they look and yours are very pretty.

Hi NatureCoilsbyPW Your looks really healthy & beautiful. Did you Henna, DC and oil your hair immediately before installing your Sisterlocks? My installation starts on Sun 3rd April & I have very dry 4C greying hair which I will cover with henna a few days before. However I usually do a DC right after rinsing out the henna and I am trying to decide whether I should DC as usual or not. I am keen for your experienced opinion since I really admire your SLs and enjoy hearing your journey and how the oils have helped.. Looking forward to your response & have a great week Stay beautiful Sancho

Hello, I'm a newly "sister lock" sister and was wondering if you oiled your hair during the first 6 months of installation. Like you, my hair loves oil and I'm uncertain if I should hold off using oil until locks have fully matured.

Alva Clemons, the BEST SL consultant ever... But don't tell her I said that. Lol! Just kidding. She installed both sets of my Sisterlocks and knows her stuff.

Yh I think you have a point....the oils helped with my natural hair so don’t get why I can’t use it for my sisterlocks too. My hair loved water and oils...thanks for sharing. Love your hair too. How many locks do you have?
@NatureCoilsbyPW6 жыл бұрын
Amanda Essel Hi! Using oil on the locks themselves may cause them to slip, so if you use light oil, just know this can happen. Thanks! I think I have about 365. I haven’t counted in a minute and I combined a few.

Your hair is beautiful. I also plan to oil my locs after I get them for the softness and sheen. May I ask, how many locs do you have and what size are they? Thanks.

My sisterlocks were installed Feb 2013. They are not a thin as yours and I have the bundled ends which prevents me from styling my hair as well; and they collect oil. I cannot get the oil out of those ends. My loctician told me that I would need to cut them off. My question is... did you start over when you cut your hair or did you cut the bundled ends off only?
@NatureCoilsbyPW8 жыл бұрын
I cut my first set of Sisterlocks well before I decided to take them down altogether. The bunched ends were annoying. My consultant told me that eventually the ends may have settled but I did not use oil at all then.

Thank you for your timely reply. One more question: How did your ends look after you cut the bundled ends off?
@NatureCoilsbyPW8 жыл бұрын
+Audrey Gay I wish I could post a photo. They were uniform after I cut the ends off. They did not unravel or anything like that. I no longer has curly q's.
@audreygay8998 жыл бұрын
I guess I am still somewhat of a newby to sisterlocks. What does the term "Curly Q" mean to you? I thought curly q's were ringlets at the end of each lock. Like your profile pic shows so beautifully.

do you use any henna now? shiny hair is a result of closed cuticles...the light refractive off and bounces off the cuticled. how you start your locks is how your hair will be in locks. henna helps to make strong cuticles and that is reflected in the shine. I am very interested in your hair because my hair looks a lot like yours but with more coils. it is bra band length and I got my sister locks in 2014. I was a henna head and mixed henna with indigo. I have been mostly oil free on my hair (MY consultant applied an oil blend to my scalp and I have put castor oil on my ends about 2 inch up in the winter..about once a month. I only started oiling my ends after I was locked 1 year. but WHY you interest me is that my post henna hair is locking but I also have 8 inches or less of my hair that is still dhiny..skinny with open ends that are coily. People love my hair but they do not know that open ends are unprotected hair and must be treated like loose hair and protected. My consultant tried cutting into my locks at the sort of locked part to see if my hair would seal.. it unraveled. I do not use oil to get shinr..it is naturally shiny due to my previous hair care regimen. I use oil about once per month on my scalp because it is very, very dry. I use oil about once per month on my ends in the winter and I dab neem and castor oil on two places to grow my edges back.they are almost really full now. HERE IS MY QUESTION ANDROID COMMENT... I have grays coming in and want to henna so badly but was waiting for my locks to mature..based on your hair..that looks a lot like my hair.. 4 or 5 years? 😢 I have been 15th on the locked and my ends are very silky and coily..part of this (I believe) is the fault of my consultant who left up to 4 inches of my hair OUT of the locks when she put them in..they turned into ringlets and coils but look like 3c hair. I want to henna my hair..but even water causes my hair to slip. THE QUESTION. do you or have you ever used henna since getting this set of locks and if so..what were the results? the idea of 4 to 5 years end with no discernible change or sealing is upsetting to hear.😨

+InfinitelyFree I have not used henna at all since I started the locs. 4 years later and my hair is just fine. No problems with loose ends.

+NatureCoilsbyPW ask and you will be given! Thanks for your reply :) my install is in a couple of weeks and you've seriously got me thinking that maybe I should do a henna cleanse a couple of times before my install date! 😉 your hair is stunning.
