Awesome informational video as usual. We are in the Northeast and had someone wax our boat with regular carnauba wax. Can we use the Nautical One Hydro Rinse SiO2 after washing to help maintain or should this only be used when using the Nautical One One-Step Ceramic polish in place of waxing? Thanks for any thoughts you can share.

If your boat is a darker color I wouldn’t use the hydro rinse.. it’s been know to streak on darker hulls! If not then yes, polish with this polish and top it off with hydro.

Hey Drake! I’ve been watching several of your videos and you are such a big help! Thanks for the informative videos. Anyways, I just ordered a new boat and will be taking delivery late winter. I would like to keep the boat as shiny as possible and make it last all year long. I’m only in freshwater lakes and only about every other weekend 4-6 months of the year. If I apply both of these products (the one step with a finishing foam pad) would you expect with my usage and regular washing for this sealer and coating to last all year?? I only want to do this once a year. If these products will not last all year then what should I use? Thanks in advanced!
@DrakesDetailing
@DrakesDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
Your best bet if you want to only do this once a year, Would be to Polish the boat with the ceramic polish, After apply 1 or 2 coats of this ( amzn.to/2ZAln0i ) ceramic spray . Then about 2 weeks later or a month later when you wash your boat again, wash with this ( amzn.to/35y1Npk ) While it's still wet spray the hydro pearl thats in the video! That Should give you a solid year or more! If you do these steps, only wash your boat with this product from now on. amzn.to/35y1Npk. Same soap as above.
@codybruner
@codybruner 3 жыл бұрын
Drake's Detailing thanks for the quick reply! That sounds perfect! I’ll do just that! Although, is their really a big difference between the ceramic spray and the hydro pearl? Because there is a massive price difference lol
@DrakesDetailing
@DrakesDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, so the hydro pearl is technically a ceramic topper. It can be apply on top of sealants and wax, but it works best on top of ceramic. Hydro pearl with make the water bead like crazy and make your boat easy to clean. The ceramic spray will stop oxidation! Plain and simple. Hope that helps! Another option is to polish the boat with the ceramic polish, then apply hydro pearl like I did in the video. Then about every 2 months just re apply the hydro pearl.

Hi Drake, your videos are awesome, I just subscribed!! Question, I have 2 boats, both with good gelcoat but moderate oxidation. Assuming I use Starke Level R or Restructure for cutting, can I go straight to this McKee's Nautical One Step? Anything needed in between? Any compatibility issues?
@DrakesDetailing
@DrakesDetailing 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Bro! I would not use this product for your application. You would probably want to use the level r like you said on a heavy cut wool pad on a rotary buffer, then I’d switch over to Starke Elevate on a yellow wool pad, then I’d you have a DA or forced rotation I would use elevate again with that machine with a lake country orange forced rotation pad. Then seal her up with the Hyperhold. 😎

The AutoGeek Light Cutting Pad loads up pretty quick after each 2x2 section and leaves considerable holograms. Been looking at McKees37 Marine RV, Marine 31, and now the Nautical One line of products for my boat. All brought about by Bob McKee. I wonder how they compare to each other’s similar products. Also, although each line has similar products such as compounds, polishes, mold/mildew removers etc., they also have products not available from their counterparts. Specifically Marine31 Captains Boat Coating which appears to be an SiO2 coating, and not the spray on kind like you used. Can’t find one review or video on the stuff. Anyway, your review of this product looks promising, and probably a good follow up after a rotary compound. I appreciate your content, and thanks for sharing your review of this product.

Drake, my wife asked me why I’m watching videos on washing and waxing boats. She said that I’ve been cleaning our boats forever. I told her because there‘re new products and techniques and I may be stuck in the past... way past. You proved me right. I bought a Sportsman 247 a year ago before the Covids. I don’t think I have any oxidation; maybe the start of some on the transom. I just started keeping the boat in indoor storage. Anyway, I have a few questions, - (1) should I go with 400/ Jesscar or this new stuff on a year-old boat? (2) is this the same stuff you used on non-skid in one of your other videos.
