You can't just scream at them (that's called bullying nowadays), you can't punch them (the organization is filming everything and will release it to pay you less), EVERYTHING you say, will be held against you, by EVERY ENTITY including your organization. Not to mention if your coach doesn't win a championship or you have a down year, the coach is fired. The world and league changed so the same "forcing teammates......", is OUT. That style worked in the 90s. It didn't even work in 2000 when Jordan had Stackhouse, Richard Hamilton. Then he tried the same thing with Kwame brown, and that created one of the top bust of all time! Hell he tried it for 15 years after that and every team he put together and was putting his finger on has been horrible, whether they were the bobcats or hornets. Try telling your child what to do and their making 10 million dollars a year! 😂😂That style worked for 100 years because for 10 thousands years, that force could be used. Now, you have to accommodate a grown man's "feelings" by getting clearance from the team psychologist and you have to watch how you look at him because he might commit suicide. Times changed and Jordan and kobe represented the last time that sorry if "leadership" could be used.

Which obviously was unsuccessful. Its disrespectful how older players get viewed. Ironically Jordan always showed respect and appreciation for the ones before him.

Why Gil acting like those exact comments on being a ball hog and empty stats was literally the same thing they said about MJ till ‘91. Most thought he was the greatest to ever play just off ability but of course not in accolades at that moment (at least not until his 4th or 5th ring). EVERY GREAT that didn’t win right away like Bird, Kareem, Magic, Duncan for example has heard there stats were meaningless. Hell, KOBE HEARD it after winning 3 titles. Wilt heard it his whole career even after winning a title and outright beating the 60’s Celtics. Also, it’s interesting when people talk about the narratives when the stats just clearly show it differently. Sure, to a point when MJ or Kobe were averaging 33+ PPG they didn’t win (well MJ did average 31.5, 30 and 32.5 in his first 3 peat compared to 37, 35, 32.5, 33.6 the years prior) they should’ve got their teammates more involved but it’s not just one sided. They needed actually GOOD TEAMMATES around them. LeBron is no different. Sure the pre-Heat Cavs lead LeBron teams weren’t offensively competent but there style of play, there coaching and the league was all centered towards defense. Considering most playoff games had scores between 75-90 points as the final scores. The Cavs during those years with Mike Brown were always one of the best defensive teams in the league. MJ’s assist totals the 3 years before he won his 3-peat were MUCH higher than during his 3-peat years. His offensive win shares stayed at 14-15 during those 3 years and his 90-91 year then dropped to 12.5 in 91-92 & 92-93. Likewise with his PER and funny thing is his usage rate was HIGHER in his 2nd 3-peat where they were slightly more defensive focused due to Rodman, Harper, Pippen and MJ (and the league at the time) than his first three peat and every year before that except in 86-87 where he had no offensive help and averaged 37-5-5. Hell his usage rate on the Wizards was higher than ANY year he was on the Bulls except 86-87. So yea Scottie clearly butthurt the son that looks closest to MJ is next in line on his for the streets ex along with the Last Dance. But seriously some things can be explained or concluded by looking at the stats. Clearly once MJ had good enough talent to win for the era he nearly always won. It’s no different than any era for any team sport especially one where there’s a series. It just depends since some eras are weaker than others and the late 80s-early 90s is arguably the best era of having a ton of talent in NBA history along with today’s era

I dislike how Pippen said this because he made it sounds like it's all because of him? hell no. if it's not Pippen but someone else who also has potential, Jordan would adjust his game to fit his teammates in his way. look at Pippen's stats in first couple years, his impact on games was limited, very limited. he always believe he got disrespected, I really don't know why! everything in the last dance is true, we all been there we know it. he is such a child, sadly but true. he refused to grow up, he refuses to take responsibility of his action. he blamed other people to make him feel better, to make him believe he deserve better.

@@ItdoMop Yep, you're dead wrong. Lebron's East often had only 3/15 All-NBA players (compared to Jordan's East at least being on par with the West and sometimes having more), meaning virtually all the elite competition that could challenge Lebron was in the opposing conference. It's why he could get through the East without any stars but would get torched in the West. He also benefitted greatly during his 2nd stint with Cleveland because he could regularly take games off (took 2 full weeks off in 2015) and never have to worry about seeding. Meanwhile, that same action in the West would put to bed any chance at a Finals run because the talent pool out West is too deep.

Sometimes Gil is spot-on and other times completely misses the mark. MJ’s stats weren’t empty because he was ALSO PLAYING DEFENSE. He was getting NBA Al-Defensive teams on those years, too. Kevin Love didn’t do that in MN…Russ didn’t do that when he was getting triple doubles…hell Lebron hasn’t played defense AT ALL in almost 10 years

Jordan was drafted in 1984 he wasn't a lockdown defender until 1988. I felt he had advantages that allowed him to dominate like being bigger. Allowing him to bully them but when he played larger guards like Reggie Lewis it was another story. Of course lewis died and can't fault Jordan for using his advantage. But he most definitely put in the work to get his results.

The reason why certain players get told that they are meaningless stats is because they aren’t winning when it comes to Westbrook all those triple doubles but no championship at the end of it that’s why the stats from meaningless. He’s still a great player and should be a Hall of Famer for what he’s done, but with all of those stats he didn’t win a championship so that means that those stats are all he was going for which I don’t think should be a knock but at the same time you have to get at least one ring while doing it

You guys should know these stuff before talking about it. Scottie has always said greatest things about Jordan. Even when he got his Hall of Fame Award he specifically told Jordan he was thankful for him for winning all those games with him. After that he always said great things about Jordan. Then after the Last Dance Scottie got upset because Jordan got paid $10 million dollars but Jordan donated all that money anyways. Then he was upset because The Last Dance had a scene where Scottie refused to go into a game. That is where Scottie was embarrassed and mad about. Just my opinion though.

People have unfairly ragged on Isiah Thomas because Jordan was the media’s darling but the reality is Jordan was truly the guy who if fans met on a personal level, the kinda guy everyone would call a pompous idiot and no one would want to be around. Isiah on the other hand from all accounts in terms of how his former coaches, teammates, and former opponents (outside of Scottie and Jordan who don’t get along themselves) show him love…including his TNT/NBATV coworkers, seems far more personable. Zeke would treat Jordan’s fans more pleasantly than Jordan would treat them.
