At least one person died and five others were hurt after a parking garage collapsed on Ann Street near Nassau Street in the Financial District. Officials believe all workers have been accounted for, though were still searching after the collapse that sent the fourth floor plummeting into the cellar. NBC New York has team coverage.

Garage looks in bad shape, building probably not meant to be a garage- holding cars. So that’s probably why they have “valet “ parking, too dangerous to let people drive their cars in, who owned that dump? How much they charged for that parking? 😮

I used to park my car in a parking structure near a government building in Los Angeles California. I see cracks everywhere, it seems like going to collapse anytime,very scary. I don't park in there anymore, I rather pay more to park in an open parking lot😑

Find out who the architects were that designed this structure in the 1950s. Check for any other old buildings designed by the same people. They did things differently back then.

There are many buildings that are 100 years old and older and while many of them were well built and maintained unfortunately some were not and have become dangerous.

Building is at least 83 yrs ago. In 1940 it was alredy a parking garage.

I 'm so sorry to the person who was killed. parking in new york city is only parking garages only. This garage will have to be rebuilt. It is very old. I'm so sorry. Bless the souls who lost their cars that they can get them replaced. Amen
