You should remember that we treat you better than you do to us either in Delhi or Bangalore. Most of the industries are on coastal area because of there geographic advantage as it's easy for import, export and industries... so obviously they earn more and grow more.. And north indians are consuming the products of those companies and industries without any discrimination. So ultimate the profit is being earned by those coastal cities. Even having natural resources with them the Northern states are land locked so industries are not flourishing there... Are they responsible for being born in North. The eastern China is more developed because of coatal area. Same with USA and many other countries. So who will you blame now.. North people can also say that they are protecting south from foreign invasions since thousands of years. So it's all geography whatever situation we are facing.

I do agree revenue should be shared but it should be sustainable. I agree South India has coastal advantage but lot of hard-work has gone in building these cities such as generating electricity to Bengaluru which was first in Asia, building krishnaraja sagar(krs), establishing badravathi steal and iron factory and iisc in bengaluru and mysuru railways.These were done before 1950's . Central govt has not given any big projects or funds to South India then to it is developing at a faster rate.

The central government always used the resources and subsidized the logistics of resources from north india to Southern and western states. But did not started any industry in North.. jharkhand worker work hard for steel and coal supply and coastal states use it in their industries to earn profit.. why they did not started industries in Jharkhand. North India is being exploited since British time.

And the drafting committee of the Indian constitution had 7 members out of which 2 were south indians(alladi krisnaswami iyer, n gopalswami ayyanger) , 1 was northeast indian Assamese (Muhammad sadulla), 1 west indian (Dr br ambedkar) and 2 north indian(khaitan , mitter) , east indian(munshi) . ambedkar was Chairman of the committe so he got most credit . And obviously making constitution is not a joke Dr ambedkar and his fellows had to study different constitutions all over the world in order to create it. Power , prosperity and lands are not owned they are earned. I'm south indian myself from karnataka(hubli) and I agree with some of ur thoughts but thay dosnt make any sense to leave . Majority of south indians asmwell as north indians are simply busy living their lives they are not intrested in all those things related to dravida , south etc . People are more than happy to be indians . However if any kind of dispute exists(may it be between north pr south) it should be solved legally and democratically thats it. Peace.

People should always isolate the problem to the lowest common denominator. So, one must identify the problem with the other factors - lack of education and development, more religiosity, social reasons even gang wars can spur the off-springs, lack of wealth means endemic poverty ensures that it is safer to have more Children so that they can provide help in old age, distress etc etc. Rather than saying Bihar without even quoting a figure for the state v one of the southern state, it is all futile exercise blaming it North v South. .

1.Who said they South Indian states are rich or developed?, we face a thousand problem each day. We need the money we give to better ourselves first. 2. If the government plans to do away with the 1971 census and use 2011 census it shall put the Southern states in a greater disadvantage(for then TN shall get even lesser than 0.40 RS). 3.Using population to decide on tax sharing is so stupid as it shall always put the state with lower population at disadvantage.(Lesser Population does not mean they are rich or developed or they need less). 4. More over all southern states stared with low social and economical index after independence, no one subsidized them for them to reach their present position. Each has to carry their own burden. If so then why should Northen states consume those cars? We should put up an entry tax on it and lets see how much downgrade in workforce happens in TN. They Use our resources to make those cars. Why do all car companies target South India? Do you know how much water is used by these industries to just make one car? South India is losing its natural resources rapidly and we are paying the price for that with reduced agriculture lesser water for drinking. We have the Kudankullam Nuclear plant which supplies power to other states, and it is evident water resources around the plant are highly degraded(no fishing). Similarly we have a thousand industries strelite, Pepsi, Coke, all automobile plants, newly proposed neutrino lab, Shale gas extraction along cauvery belt. All these projects affect local people who are forced to move out of their regions. 17%-21%of gdp is from agriculture, 34% industries. Its more or less same for UP 25% Agriculture, 24% Industries. Not that UP does not have any Industries and that we do not consume its products, we also consume the cars we produce, to say we also contribute to the taxes paid by these industries. Kerala Does not have any major industries, most of their money comes from their people working in foreign. Same is for AP. Only 5 times has the center had FM form South and only 2 PM from south so ur point that south looted north is baseless and more over industries come to a state because of the policy of the state not because of the FM of the country.

Financial implications are only not the only priblem that south india would. The bigger problem would be gross injustice in people's representstion. Already, south india law makers constitute only fraction above 24% of 545 seats in LS and as such under represented. This would further gi below 22 to 20% those are danger bells for southern states.

Not only this sugar required for south is 5.5 mt due to drought and less interest in farming in sugarcane production of sugar reduced to 3.5 mt from 6 mt thus south become sugar importer, nearly half of the sugar in India is produced in UP. if south imports sugar from other countries they will get it for Rs.10/kg but center is stopping from importing sugar by imposing high import taxes and making us to by from UP at Rs.45/kg. they are not only looting us from taxes also form this kind of partiality. coming to wheat and rice. they never talk about rice and minimum price for rice. they always talk about wheat and subsidizing wheat where as rice is single largest crop cultivated in large area of India, because that area is in south. the are just few how north looting south south brings about 50% of Indian foreign exchange still they can not import sugar from other counties and they have to buy north Indian sugar for what ever price they say.

While I am all in favour of money from better off states being given to poorer states, it shouldn't be on the basis of their ever growing population. The population growth in southern states have stabilized to replacement levels while population growth in states like UP and Bihar are still high with about 4 children per woman. This cannot continue or else people from North will swamp South like they did in Mumbai.

The Major issue is the lack of administrative skills in the BIMARU states that creates an overhead for any Indian taxpayer. For example, the clean Narmada Project in Madhya Pradesh(A project of Rs 1300 crore) & Clean Ganga Initiative(A separate ministry was formed under Uma Bharti and Rs 20,000 crore was allocated in the budget 2015 on cleaning Ganga by 2020,), this has been a big flop due to corrupt politicians and have yielded no results. BIMARU states have to be better administered to avoid polluting their own water bodies, this money can be in turn used for better infrastructure and education. This is all our hard earned money being wasted! And yet do you need South to spend more money out of our pockets?

I don't understand why is the population a measure of allocating funds. The centre and state should have a fixed revenue sharing structure like 70:30 (State: Centre) on the income generated at the state level. This improves productivity in within states and promotes better revenue recognition.

Because you dumbhead there is not a single South language which is spoken across South India leave whole of India. You want to impose one of the South languages which is spoken by hardly 5% of total population of India leaving behind Hindi which is spoken by 40% population of India. Even many of the North Indian states like Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, etc. don't have Hindi as their mother tongue but still understand Hindi and can write and read Hindi. They never complain about it. By just understanding one language, you can communicate with people in majority of the states in India. This failed logic is mostly given by Tamilian and Mallu people. Andhra people are still better.

These all are tricky arguements. Bangalore may be contributing over 60 percent of total taxes or wealth than the rest of Karnataka. So with Chennai to Tamilnadu, Mumbai to the rest of Mahaeastra. Past Cm kamaraj taught that only way to overcome poverty is education and brought midday meal scheme which gave free meal for childrens who attend school..and give money and rice for those who make family planning..and each autos,rickshaws, taxi's have quotes on family planning.. It's not about focusing the entire north as a problem but rather it is the problem confined to a few states in northern part of India. In other words, it is a problem between well sustained and economically strong states beginning to question about their reliability on Centre's trust in terms of funding. Even the state like Maharashtra can justifiably raise this question because Maharashtra is the highest contributor to GDP. Should the states which helped to make India better be punished? Let's not jump to a final conclusion in one shot! Let's say this same system of funding to states continue for another decade!! Do you think that states like Bihar or UP can create a balance which will benefit every Indian state equally? If nothing else matters, at least ask their own respective state government what have they been doing for the last five years!! There are two possibilities towards a solution!! Either they gotta claim their rights to get the share which they deserve by making a separate nation for them or they(including developed states of North) gotta get assurance that fundings will be ethically divided after giving two or three political terms for self development for our neighbors in Bihar,UP and MP! The point is that if the latter happens by self realization or by force, then the centre and respective state govt will have no other option instead of putting in real efforts to improve education,health and industrialization of the less improved states in the same terms. They will stop manipulating people for votebank politics. They have bridged a wall between people and their potential to realize where they gotta focus their energy. Their politicians have channeled the people to not become angry and protest when the government shows no improvement on a ground level. Caste and religion based politics combined with massive illiteracy have made a part of our North Indian friends remain secluded inside their own bubble. As an true Indian, any educated person, irrespective of North or South, should understand that the source of the real problem which has made states like Bihar to not be on par with Maharashtra or Gujarat. This North vs South issue is a tool to identify the problem. Don't stand against South but instead join the South and offer a time period to centre and respective state govt to show a believable progress to our fellow people whom we have considered as the forsaken souls till now! Push the government to prove in that time period!!

Well I had an argument with u . Actually this Anamoly evolved after 15tg finance commission and its recommendations . Southern states pay tax because they are developed . However this isn't essentially north south debate because many northern states like maharashtra , gujarath ,haryana ,punjab ,uttara khan also give more and take less . Indont want my country to split but it would be good if southern states form a special alliance called united states of south india within india to fight for south justice and seek state rights and financial powers . India needs more fedralism . It would be like Dakshina mamdalam . And actually north indians are hardworking I have seen them doing worst of worst type of labours but they lacked capitalistic leaders.
