Wow, Incredible amount of knowledge you just gave to me. I've been dealing with these issues for 10 years and I'm only 29. Somedays I can barely make it. My left hamstring is gone, my left trap is huge, I have clicking on the left side of my jaw, constant left thoracic back tightness/tenderness, ridiculous amount of left hip/quad/groin pain on certain days. I've been very active through my youth, dirt bikes/kettlebells/running/hiking/Marine Corps/football/carpentry. It was always noticeable, but manageable. Until 4 years ago my left arm was casted up and slung across my chest for 9 weeks, while I literally sat in a chair the entire time doing office work. And now it's like my left leg isn't even there. Idk when my pelvis shifted to the right, ever since I can remember my under garments have always ran/shifted to the right and id have to adjust them, especially when doing sports or long stride activities. Which seems like a sign I had this issue happening, or beginning, from when I was a child. Thank you so much for sharing this content, I've been misdiagnosed so many times. I have a lot of studying to do now, for that was a lot of information, but I'm starting to see some light! Thank you again!

Update: I'm doing great! Went to a great PT in Indianapolis for 40 hrs (insurance) over the course of a few months. I spoke with her alot about PRI. She did a very detail exam of my posture. She said my pelvic tilt, and other ailments, look very similar to when a patient falls through a hole with one leg, and other leg remains planted. I've definitely fallen through some roofs, but nothing stuck out to me. I did fall into an alligator pond when I was 5, and was yanked up by one arm by angry grandpa. Idk, might have messed me. Hard telling. She gave me about a dozen positions to get in and hold for 2 minutes. These certain position push my pelvis and other bone/joints back into place. I did them twice a day for months, and then transitioned to doing them once very week or 2. But one other major help was to work out the planter fasciitis on my right foot. The bottom of your foot is connected all the way to the top of your head. It release my entire right side. Things aren't perfect, but rolling out my right foot every morning and evening has been tremendous, and it's so easy!

I'm having a hard time following the info and figuring out best treatment plan. I've had severe chronic shoulder pain under my left Scapula for about 7 years - which has led to nerve pain down my left arm into my hand and fingers and severe pain on the left side of the neck. I've recently discovered what I think to be the root cause of issue - my left leg appears to be longer that my right. This has caused my entire frame to appear lop sided. My left shoulder is about 3 inches higher than my right. What would you recommend I do to treat this issue and get my legs and frame back to normal?

Is it enough sensing the ground on the left side by just doing PRI exercises? Or does it has to become a life style? Everything you have been explaining in this video is very interesting but on the other hand I wonder how long should be a restoration program and is it feasible even for the patient on acute pain? I have always over pronated and had slight knock knees. My mom has said I’ve had this since I was a kid. I have had back problems since I was young as well and started going to a chiropractor when I was 11. I ended up having a chronic injury to my right knee that I didn’t address for 15+ years because I always just thought I had a “bad knee” but I had actually fractured my patella and had cartilage and bone fragments floating in the knee joint. This caused me to walk with a limp from mid-teens to late 20s. I finally got arthroscopic surgery which got the knee to ~80% but it still causes pain. My entire right side feels pinched, my body feels cockeyed. I have pain from my neck that goes down the entire muscular chain to my knee and even down my arm to my fingers. I have been to a PT several times and it might help very temporarily but nothing has ever stuck. I have a high right hip, S curve scoliosis, SI joint dysfunction, sciatica nerve pain, dropped right shoulder, piriformis syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, chronic migraine headaches, TMJ, “loose” ribs that subluxate easily. The list honestly goes on still… I sincerely believe these are all related. No one I have seen has ever tried to address all these issues as one. This information is truly invaluable. I finally feel like there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you.

@lw7654
@lw7654 2 жыл бұрын
No right shoulder pain. All left. Now I also have impingement left side, slight tear supraspinatus and subscap. Levator scap/upper traps constantly contracted and pulling on my neck. Left hip feels unstable. Both glutes won’t activate. Slight head tilt to the right. This has turned into quite a mess. Is this what your talkjng about? Still on the right side and not the left? I’m not ignorant when it comes to the anatomy and some of what your saying but I just cannot grasp all these things you have to do to correct. Have no idea which exercises to do. Your therapy sounds really interesting, but with all do respect truly, it can’t be the only therapy to correct your body dysfunction/s or no one would get better . Most ppl have no clue about pri and they do get better through a good PT/physio helping them. Unfortunately, finding that good PT for me hadn’t happened. I still enjoy your videos b/c they all sound like what I’m going through. I will try your exercises though. My scm/scalenes are tight on right, though most pt’s I have seen say I have an elevated rib on my left, I do breath through my left scm/scalenes. Now I’m wondering if their wrong and it’s more the tight right neck causing this. I also just found out my c7 has slightly slipped onto my t1. Again everything you talk about is me. I live in FL and there are only 3 PRI therapists and one is strictly for athletes. The 2 that are left look to work in Spas and do other therapies besides pri. I need someone like you who is an expert on pri fully. Hoping your exercises will help, if not, I prob would want to come see you just for an evaluation and recommendations b/c this is ruining my body/life. Thank you for all your valuable info.

Hi Neal, If I'm in Left AIC/Right BC pattern then would this also explain why I feel a stronger left glute compared to right glute? They would be the opposite of the hamstrings correct? I bought their program, they are very similar to PRI, though they don't see it as a pattern as well as PRI does. It's pretty much breathing, Hamstring, Glute med based, they don't have as much stance type of training on one leg. They also don't adress vision or teeth as much as i know, a lot of posterior rib cage expansion and strengtheninh the TVA, IO and so on. They are on the right path. Something i think PRI could take from Flobility is (not rounding the back, i know it's impossible to do when your feet are on the wall... and to get proper muscle activation) Flobility has a lot of supine exercises where their feet are on/ off the ground. They do have exercises with feet on wall but that's different i think. They are about getting healthy hips and spine... just as much as I've observed Hopefully neal checks them out, they definitely are worth looking at because of the similarities and some different POV's

Also it is anteriorly rotated while The right shoulder scm/scalenes are tighter, no pain, lower shoulder and more posterior. This is why this is so confusing to me, should I be doing the reverse of what your saying? I keep watching this video over and over and this part is where I differ from what your saying. I just want to make sure I’m in the pattern your speaking of. Thank you if you respond

The left side can be overactive and painful too, but it’s further compensation on top of the normal compensation. Pain can be anywhere. The dominant right side is still the underlying issue, compensations get layered on top of it. My beginner program likely won’t be enough for you. Your neck is too heavily involved. You need to find a live therapist.

@NealHallinan

There is nothing I can say about your condition except that it is the result of the underlying left AIC right BC pattern. The techniques you'd need can only be determined by a PRI therapist who can assess you.

Neal I went to a pri specialist in upstate new York he checked me and said that my jaw is causing all problems anyways on my way out he said is there any questions. I said what pattern do I have is it aic r bc or pec he said no no you are patho. So I wanted to know if I was patho pec he said no so it felt like he was trying to avoid the question. My question neal what other patterns beside the right tmcc . left aic right pec pattern and pec pattern?
@NealHallinan
@NealHallinan 3 жыл бұрын
"Patho" simply means that your body has range of motion that it shouldn't have. You can be patho Left AIC at the front of the left hip. Your BC pattern could have pathology at the shoulder.

It's not that they are incorrect, it's just that minimalist shoes don't work well for people who are experiencing pain from a pattern. Once they are feeling fine, people can wear whatever they'd like.

To spread the science of Postural Restoration. Most of the world has never heard of it, and those that have heard of it don't understand it. If we never move past the paradigm of "stretch and strengthen" people will never get effective resolution of their pain. Effective action is taken when someone resonates with something I say or discuss in a video and find a PRI provider.

@@NealHallinan I love your stuff. And agreed. Most of the world has never hear of it. I have a client who could so benefit from this BUT she would never even understand the content. 6:04 "90-90 hip shift is not good for a PEC".. isn't laic/rbc also underlying every pec? Im confused :(
@NealHallinan
@NealHallinan 3 жыл бұрын
Because they need both sides. A non-hip shifting 90-90 would be more suitable so you can use both hamstrings. Once the right leg can adduct, a hip shift is more suitable. Many won't be able to hip shift without using their lower back, especially if there is any pathology involved.

With superior T4 syndrome, is it usual to have a normal (at least painless) right shoulder and a problematic left shoulder? Also, do you have any videos where you talk about superior T4/have you thought about making one, or is too complex of an issue for a video?
@NealHallinan
@NealHallinan 3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely you could have a painful left shoulder/neck and a non-painful right shoulder. I did talk about the subclavius muscle, probably about 2 years ago. It's really, really complex. One of the hardest things to understand, test for, and resolve.
