Yo this sounds like it was from the year they did 2 rounds every weekend. Fielding held on to this killer video for this long? 🤯

He said in the video of regrets that he's filmed hundreds of hours stuff and never edited it so this is it

How do u get so little travel with the handbrake? Just a high quality master cylinder?
@oufrider27282 жыл бұрын
The diameter of the piston in the master cylinder must be bigger than a standard one, you displace more fluid with a bigger piston.
@rxb83122 жыл бұрын
All depends on the size of the slave cylinder. Your common .625 will have alot of travel and will lock up wheels with ease where as .75 will have much less travel but will require much more pull force to achieve the same pressure. Probably works much better with some sticky pads in the double caliper setup
@hankelars2 жыл бұрын
could just be the where the pivot point of the lever is, kind of like short shifters. Although doing that would mean you would have to pull harder for the same pressure
@rxb83122 жыл бұрын
@@hankelars short shifters have much shorter throw than master cylinders in hydros so moving pivot point affects them a lot, where as with the hydro, pivot point would have to be somewhere like half way though the lever to have such little travel so that doesnt quite add up.
@rxb83122 жыл бұрын
@@hankelars you also cant have very long arm acting on the master cylinder as the angle of operation is very limited. Youd be pointlessly pulling it up rather than acting on it with a longer arm. That's why you dont see much difference between different hydros because the pivot point has to be adequate to master cylinder position. Pull level might be different for different feel

This video is so old they don't even run that same style head anymore and haven't for a while. I believe they changed it a little after the second half of the season 😅😂 Edit: it's been over a year now since they've changed heads on that car 😅
