It really sucks that you have to ask for a raise in the first place. If the company wants to have good employees the should pay them what there worth and not wait for them to leave then let them know you want to give them a better wage. Its a bullshit game for any employer to play.

At $17000 a year i think is a no brainer that you are not financially comfortable. When a company that produces $ 43 billion in sales a year and tells you that they cannot afford to give raises cause the company will go under is BULLSHIT and nothing but lies to keep the ceo's happy and the pool guy paid. Not looking for a $100,000 a year package just a desent wage.

Handed to me? seriously? i bust my ass everyday to make ends meat. And as far as your comment on entitled why yes i am entitled cause i earned it. Theres a big difference between entitled and benefits look it up. A pay check is not a benefit a non national paid holiday would be a benefit.

Change like how? Go to collage like you and become a ceo as well? Yes this is exactly what a ceo or hr person would say just to justify there income. All of us blue collar workers have heared it all and were tired of the lies and B.S. So let me ask you a question what do you think would happen if everyone went to collage ans became a lawer a doctor or even a ceo like yourself. well first of all you wouldnt have any waiters suerving your prim rib and lobster for dinner would you but yet were all have to live on a shitty income so you can keep your wife in a new fur coat every month. its ok im sure you will sleep pretty good any how since greed has corrupted most big businesses and high end corporations. Night sleep well.

Well first of all congrats on you n your friends business. Lets get something straight here im not looking for fairy tails or magic wands im looking for a cost of living WAGE not raise. Im not one of those high strung out radical liberal looking for a hand out i am a 50 year ojd man that has $5,000 in my savings and around $9,000 in an ira thats all i have to show for my hard work through all of these years dont get me wrong here im not looking for halph of the companys profits just my fair share of it cause i am part of this company. i wouldnt have a job if there werent people who start them and there wouldnt be ant production without the blue collar worker either. I am a full on conservative that believes in free enterprise so once again congrats on your business, But isnt funny as in odd how one company that is bringing in 10 billion a year and another company down the street is bringing in 10 million a year paying the same wage to its employes and yet us blue collar workers keep hearing the same B.S that if the company has to give raises the company will go under hmmm interesting dont you think.. The one that im working for is shuttin down halph the plant as we speak and moving it to mexico and at $6 a day per person i think there saving all kinds of money just so they save the company. Ya see its this kinda B.S. we hear all the time and were all sick of it. Raising the minimum wage is about the dumbest shit i have ever heared. Mayby companys need to start lowering there prises and i dont meen just a few but all starting with the oil companys medications, doctors, then you should see insurance companys start to lower theres. People start lowering prises you would see a domino effect here. It would be the only way i see how to fix greed of coars it would have to be government to do it.

Ohh and the guy who cracks that beer open at night yea thats me and thats the time i always come up with mt ideas yet i dont know what to do with them. that guy who comes home after a hard just wants to relax hes not looking for millions like you he just wants to pay his bills and not worry if there going to shut his lights off. Also not everyone has that opportunity to move forward what about that guy who might be a little mentally challenged a little slow if you will should he be subjected to minimum wage cause of his disability?

Well, I've seen a similar situation unfold with a co-worker and while the co-worker was understandably offended if you think about it by your boss laughing at you it tells you ALOT about not just their professionalism and it's more of a reflection of them....what I mean by that is if your boss laughs at your request how can they expect the staff working under them to not laugh at them when they make a request?...I've seen this on numerous occasions (bosses laughing at their staff, especially when it comes to reasonable requests) and then when the employee hands in their resignation they're not laughing any more!...

Make sure you actually want to work there before asking for a raise. A lot of times your income can be substantially increased by getting another job for more money in the same or different field.

Every person should be able to hire a agent to negotiate their wage. Many people are not good at asking for more money. It seems strange this is only available for the super rich, while I understand why. The agent wouldn’t get much money negotiating a 100k salary but it could make such a big difference to middle class families.

Is it normal for some people to get paid less than their coworkers when they are doing the same job , work the same hours but they are not as experienced . That's happening to me right now . I haven't done something bad , im just the new guy .

@mikenguyen6258 5 жыл бұрын
@@high1ight63 I interpreted the question as if it was normal for people who are doing the same job but are not as experienced. Please correct me if I'm wrong, because I may have misread that. Are you the one that is not as experienced or is your coworkers not as experienced? It also depends on what you mean by 'experienced' and what the job is. However, even for menial jobs, if having more experience means you can be more efficient, can catch mistakes quicker, are familiar with the inevitable issues that come from work. Even if it was a job like screwing on the top of toothpaste containers, if you are more experienced, you are more dependable by association and will get paid more.

The BIGGEST mistake in asking for a raise, is asking for a raise in the first place! From my experience, and I have never been denied a raise in my whole life. This is what I have always done. Simply walk by the boss's office, knock twice, stick your head in the door and say... "Hey, when you get a second, I'd like to talk to you". And walk away. Either one of two things will happen...... The boss will say, "Yeah, I got some time. Come on in". Or, the boss will say, "Okay, I'll get back to you when I can". Either, or..... Be totally relaxed.... When you do get the chance to talk. Simply ask for a "Cost of living increase", and NOT a raise. This way, you don't have anything at all to prove about your work performance. And (mildly) blame everything on the Economy. It puts both of you "off the hook". And I can almost guarantee that the boss has never heard an employee ask that question before. Like I said earlier, by using this method, I have never once been denied more money in my pay check.

That's an awful way to approach your boss for a raise, his simple answer would be " Well everyone has their own life expenses, you aren't the only one" , never ever use your personal data into a negotiation, keep it all about what you can offer to the company.

My boss is a complete idiot everybody knows it,and doesn't care about the firm and how it works. Only that he can get negotiate contracts with the builders at the company, with the same company that just happen to do his kitchen and garden for free. He even has the cheek to invite them to our department Christmas do. And I'm talking about a global company that pretends to frown on conflict of interest.
