Neighborhood Full Of "KARENS" Attacked Us While Magnet Fishing!! Today we went magnet fishing in a neighborhood full of Karen’s. It wasn't just one it was multiple Karen’s and Kevin’s and they just kept harassing us while we were trying to go magnet fishing that the police had to get involved. The cops showed up and we explained to the officer that we were just magnet fishing for river treasure. We also found a few guns and khives while magnet fishing here and much more. #police #magnetfishing #karen #fishing #attacked

I've only had a handful of people thank me for magnet fishing; most of them being fishermen, one of them even offered me a few bucks(which I declined). A lot of people ask what I'm doing, and I do get snarky remarks and people threatening me to leave or blurting insults and names, and had my fair share of Karen's. I magnet fish in Grand Rapids, so there's a lot of fishermen. I magnet fish to clean the waters and have fun doing it. Some people just wanna see the world burn or they threw something in the water and don't want it found.

Some people just like to stir up trouble and what, they couldn’t have watched you from the other side where their property was and made a determination that you weren’t a threat in fact you are doing something that nobody else has thought about doing to clean up the place including the owners of that bridge. If it were my place I would’ve walked over there and talk to you and probably been amazed that so much stuff was in the canal behind my house. I've seen several magnet fishing videos where short-barreled shotguns were found and people assume that they are related to a crime. There were no restrictions on barrel length until 1934, and it was once common for fishermen to carry short shotguns to deal with cottonmouths and Water Moccasins, usually in smaller gages like .410 and 28ga. These were often referred to as "snake charmers".

They don't realise? No. That's not it. It has nothing to do with realisation. They just don't care. People like this have pathetic lives. It's the ONLY reason they feel the need to approach strangers, inquire to business that's none of theirs and then try to enforce rules and gatekeep complete strangers. They don't care about anybody or anything but themselves. They need something in their mundane daily lives to feel the slightest bit of empowerment and validation, no matter how they get it. They're pathetic people that deserve zero time, acknowledgment or respect for their antics. It's not that they are ignorant or unaware. They outright don't care. They enjoy rousing others and wasting time and hearing themselves talk and feeling authoritative...even though the reality is that the only thing they have control over is what brand of toilet paper they buy. People who have lives of their own don't have time to involve themselves into the lives of strangers. 👀

If they have had problems in the past with people on their bridge or leaving a mess, the thing to do is to approach you when you get there and explain what was done before and that they would appreciate it if you didn’t use the bridge or throw near it and to please take all your finds with you when you leave. I don’t know what happened to manners but I know a lot of people don’t seem to have been taught any. If I saw a group magnet fishing near my place I would probably go ask if I could join them and check out their finds. But then I’m weird and like to find old junk myself, even if I do qualify for senior discounts.😂 You are always polite even when they aren’t very polite to you. Keep up the good work.

Magnet fishing! I'd have a hard time catching anything,,,,, if it's anything like fish fishing! I'd probably break a tooth off trying to eat the stuff! Officer Lloyd, you did a great job! Wish more deputies were like you.

Both of them seemed more like the "move along, nothing to see here" types, with some thing to hide. When people seem over paranoid about others being near, then there's often something deeper going on.

Don't even engage with those people because it's the constant back and forth arguing that makes it worse. They have no claim against you and as long as you're not violating a law.....don't even respond to them.

I hate people that address a problem, and even when you remove the problem, they still act like there's a problem. We could be living in paradise and these people would still complain about something.

It was never a misunderstanding. It was a bunch of people with chips on their shoulder. Lucky for them the chips weren’t made of magnetic material 😂. A decent person would’ve come up to you guys with a friendly curiosity to see what was going on. In a friendly way, they might even ask what you do with all the stuff you find. I think they were genuinely worried that you might discover that those barrel straps were attached to the toxic waste barrels that got thrown in 70 years ago, or Jimmy Hoffa, that got thrown in 50 years ago 😂.

This is the problem with not only magnet fishing but fishing in general and going anywhere really. Even on public land you get people like this showing up. I was magnet fishing on Schroon Lake and had some guy ask me what I was doing, told him, and I was at the town boat launch off to the side well away from the boats, cars, etc. Guy started mumbling something and walked away.
