Hello! I'm Andy - a semi-professional singer-songwriter from the UK, based in Germany. I'm a solo artist as well as vocalist of a rock band. I also teach English Language at university level, and this semester, due to covid-19 restrictions forcing an online semester on us, I did a special online version of my course "The Language of Songwriting."
Alongside a bunch of songwriting challenges, part of the final project included the option of making a reaction/review video to a song that my students particularly enjoy, discussing what elements of the song(writing) are special to them. I never give out tasks I'm not willing to do myself, so I recorded one of my own (Ghost Love Score by Nightwish, also on my channel). I put it on KZbin for fun to see whether there was interest in this kind of video, and I was really pleasantly surprised at the positive responses! So I've gone ahead and made some more!
In contrast to the many wonderful reactors out there, I'm reviewing a song I already know well. My reactions, therefore, are not as spontaneous or sensational as those of professional reactors ;-) Would you like more? I was pleased you mentioned Floor's tone in this song because I think this is what distinguishes her. Her tone and timbre, particularly in her lower register, is what impresses me the most. That is why my favourite part of all Nightwish songs is the breakdown part from Song of Myself. "Sometimes the sky is piano black, Piano black over cleansing waters" etc. beaustiful lyrics and beautifully sung.

Thanks, that was awesome! I love all of Floor's versions of Nemo but certainly agree with your assessment regarding the outro, which is why the Decades show's performance of Nemo has become my favourite. Her outro there is absolutely spectacular 🤘 Keep doing your great work, and take care!

One thing that struck me about the Wembley version was the way Troy used the e-bow to hold a pedal note during the chorus before the outro. Nothing huge, but it just added something a little different. If the new bassist is the one rumoured, that may be Marko's vocals covered (although I still think it would be hilarious if they could get Geddy Lee to play bass for the tour).

Both versions of How's the heart are beautiful. I love the acoustic version because it's so intimate with Floor and Troy. Troy does his version of the beating heart, just like Emppu does his version on the album version. Hope Nightwish will take it on their set list.

Floor and Troy could do a small venue acoustic tour and I would buy tickets immediately! I love seeing those two do interviews together because they constantly are cutting up and making each other laugh , it’s always good fun 😊

If you never listened to this before, can I suggest you the Floor solo version of Nemo, the Muziek Café record, it's very soft and intimate, I really liked it. About the new album, I suggest to wait the virtual show, not the same as a live show with audience of course, but at least it will be live, a chance to do a double reaction...or a triple for How's the Heart. I'm also curious about the Elize version, I really like her voice, and especially the Crewish one, I'm not sure I listened to their Nemo, but I liked A LOT their covers, always very different and surprising.

I will have a look at that version, thanks! Re. the virtual show - I really doubt that much of that will find its way onto KZbin for analysis. I'd be depending on a recorded live show, which could take a while!

Great review as always! I'd vote for covering Human :||: Nature sooner than later unless you find out live versions are coming soon. You can always review the live ones once available and contrast to the studio versions. I personally think reviewing in album order works best due to the progression of the songs, but if you don't plan on reviewing all of them, it does not really matter. Yes, it looks like this might be the most realistic prospect... I'm even considering doing a Twitch Stream in which I look at the whole album in one go and then cut it into individual videos for KZbin so that it doesn't take me too long to get it done. But I need more Twitch followers to make that worthwhile :-D
