My dudes, how does "Contagion" - Slimy Doom not make it on this list, especially if you are a circle of the spore druid and use your "Halo of spores" ability to do damage and thus stun the enemy before they can even try countering the effect, given a enemy that is immune to poison can counter this or can cast "lesser restoration" to cure disease however if you have your turn ahead of ahead of an ally in combat initiative and that ally can do guaranteed damage with a "save vs spell DC for half damage" then that enemy is going to be permanently stunned regardless, keep in mind that they need to make con saves to overcome the disease and the slimy doom disease makes them roll con saves with disadvantage and once they have been damaged all further attack rolls on that character have advantage so your rogue is going to love that!

Lovely to see druid content. Ah, the pain of your favourite class being so rarely covered... After gaining some money from adventuring, my drow druid wanted to leave the pressure and ruckus of social life to live remotely with a flock of awakened birds in a permanently cast druid grove. They'd keep him company, deliver letters for him, and surveil the area he was keeping watch over. He alse gathered a small treasure hoard of coins and trinkets thanks to the family of magpies that settled in his home~

CR 1/4 gives you 8 giant owls. And before dismissing a 20 HP creature that does an average of 8 damage per hit, they have flyby. If you have a big fellow, sensible to poison, 4 giant wasp will wreck him.

I want to write some books about a character that I created. This character spoke to me in a dream and spoke to my live of the elves, nature, and Grandfather Tree. A Green Regent has appeared from the mists of the High Forrest, with lineage to the Darnassian Thorn Guard. I have had three times now a spell that has saved me and my companions and that’s Charm Monster. It a pinch this can save you from multiple attackers and allow you to focus on other things.

Natures wrath with Brambles could be fun, add in "shape stone(i think)" and toss in a druid style frag. Might even have it see use around Petrified trees with my druid litch. Did figure out my tattoo spellcaster during this video.

Can I use Plant Growth to prep a battlefield, then Talk to Plants and tell them to act like Entangle so I don't have to concentrate on Entangle? I'm using 2 level 3 spells to get around the concentration restriction- think that's enough sacrifice? Pleeeeese?

I've thought about an OP strat for Conjure Animals. If your DM lets you choose what animals you conjure, then just summon 8 Rot Grubs right on top of a boss or a bunch of enemies. They don't have a stat block, but that's 8 DC 10 DEX saves and if just one succeeds your enemy is toasted. They have to burn the Rot Grub on their next turn, but most creatures either couldn't think about it in battle or wouldn't have any source of fire on hand anyway if they're not holding torches at the moment. Or they can use a spell that cures diseases afterwards, but it's even less likely that they'll have a cleric with such spell prepared on hand. Otherwise they'll be taking 1d6 damage per turn from each Rot Grub for 1 hour until they die or break your concentration. But then you can run away or turn into a badger, bury underground and just wait for them to die in a few minutes :D

Nerdarchy, could you please do an episode on Runequest: Roleplaying in Glorantha (2018), and the history of Runequest? I'm very interested in this game, and I haven't played it yet, because I haven't been able to put a game together yet. It's first addiion came out in 1978, but the world of Glorantha was created in 1966, so it's one of the "Big Daddy" roleplaying games. I just know you guys have a lot of clout, and alot of people listen to you, and I think it seems like a really cool game, and if you haven't played it, you could learn the fascinating journey Runequest has taken over the years. You missed conjure woodland creatures, very OP spell, you can summon 2-6 quickling or 8- 24 pixies all with sells of there own. So broken as a spell.

conjure spells just aren't that fun in our experience, as players or DMs. Also the interpretation of the spell for us and many others is the caster chooses the CR creature(s) but the DM picks the specific creatures that appear.

I'm playing a Goblin Druid (with my DM permission) who is a prankster all the time, and i keep using "Talk to plants" to create little grass knots in front of my allies so they keep falling x'DD Also my DM allow me to use a wizard Cantrip "minor Illusion" instead of giving me the Feat "Magic Initiate" but just to roll play the pranks on everyone with fart sounds or illusions to prank them xD

Honestly, Blight doesn't do enough damage to justify using a 4th level spell slot. You would do so much more damage by turning the melee fighter into a T-rex with Polymorph, or by casting Wall of Fire. Blight does an average of 36 damage. Compare that to a T-rex, who can chomp down on someone for an average of 33 damage and restrain them, and then tail whip someone else for another 20.5 average damage, for a total of 53.5 average damage per turn. And then, you have the fact that Polymorph lasts an entire hour, meaning that the party member will likely get to remain a T-rex for the entire dungeon. Meanwhile, you can Wildshape and go to town yourself if you happen to be a Moon druid. Even if the target for your Polymorph isn't level 8 or higher to be able to become a T-rex, even at level 5, turning a party member into a Giant Crocodile can have much the same results.

Warlock pact of chain imp Familiar turn invisible(or hide) tell imp to go invisible next turn use your action to use imp reaction to attack with advantage using Vampiric Touch, use imp action to turn invisible. Rinse repeat. Invocations Gift of the Ever-Living Ones,Voice of the Chain Master, True Devil Sight with Devil sight you can cast darkness and get the same effect. Or cast darkness and use imp devil sight to see. This works better lower levels.

Guardian of nature feels only good for moon druid cause using it for other spells seems silly since most of your good druid spells either are saved or are concentration neither of which work with it. Plus its a level 4 spell slot are you really gonna give up a polymorph cast for a small buff. Honestly i would use fairy fire over this since it also helps your team with the advantage which is the most important part of it and us only level one.

If you multi class into Monk and have Guardian of Nature: Great Tree, you pretty much make all your attacks with advantage. Open a can of Nature's Whoop-Ass on anyone who threatens your comrades.

I still prefer Polymorph to Guardian of Nature as a buff spell. It isn't that GoN doesn't have some great effects (including allowing the Druid to keep casting spells), but Polymorph is useful to ANYONE in the party, not just the Druid, and that makes all the difference to me.

I don't think Protection from Energy is a good spell at all. Sure it give you resistance to ONE damage type and if you know the element going into the fight ahead of time like when fighting a dragon, but what makes it so bad is that it needs your concentration. This wouldn't matter as much for a Moon Druid, but still it makes it so you can't concentrate on other MUCH better druid spells like Conjure Animals or Polymorph.

I wish the rule on spell concentration would be changed a little bit. If you are a full caster You should be able to concentrate on spells equal to your spell casting modifier and 1/2 as many if you are not a full caster.

when a player casts conjure animals, i choose what animals they get depending on how well there Tarzan is. perfect, they get exactly what they want, no tarzan.... they get a shark if they're on land or an elephant If they're in water, or something similar depending on the cr they choose.

As a new player I appreciate videos like this because it helps me consider other spells or other ways of using them. For me, it lets me see what kinds of options fit the character/narrative I have in mind that can also be effective. While I doubt I’ll use any ‘ultra’ builds, it’s useful to get some context on options available to me as I build a character. Hearing how different game elements interact also reminds me to consider that aspect when looking at my build choices. For me - I am currently finding fun in creating a character can both (hopefully) allow me to fulfill some great RPing while also effectively contributing to my party. :)
