A man drives into UK with a not-unreasonable amount of cash, is fidgety, and the customs agent is frustrated he can't detain the man without evidence of wrongdoing, just based on his suspicion. I'm sure glad we have laws that also conscribe the actions of the enforcers.

My feeling is the same - they appear to be desperate to 'get' these people - what they fail to understand is that many non-English folks are far better at keeping their money & saving it than the English. Because of the history of their lives and the scarcity of everything - they know how to save - they stash money away instead of following a standard English lifestyle. I've seen it with my own eyes. Hence they often have clumps of cash stashed where no Englishman would understand how they did that !! It's more often than not the saving of a few dollars at a time CONSISTENTLY that gets you to that place. Of course some of them are crooks, but just because they have cash does not make them a crook ! So the English attitude needs to learn a lesson here, and drop their feeling that 'these foreigners' have no right to this money !

@@lordlee6473 in the UK, Healthcare is free...ergo, it is paid by taxes. Cigarette smoking is a leading cause of health problems resulting in hospital stays/doctor visits/costly interventions etc....for this reason, cigarettes are taxed very heavily. This shares the cost more evenly to the responsible party. Likewise, alcohol is very highly taxed, as consumption is known to create health problems. Why should smokers get to avoid paying their share of the cost when they will certainly expect to be receiving free medical services ? Canada has a similar tax structure, as do most first world countries with Medicare systems.

I'm a mental health clinician and work with the neurodiverse community (Seizures, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder). Not having epileptic or psychiatric medication for several days can make you extremely ill and hurt, or even kill you. The symptoms are most often confusion, lightheadedness, lethargy, psychomotor agitation, slurred speech, blank expression, anxiety, and tremors. Also, many of the medications that are used in a psychopharmacological intervention for ADHD and ASD, for example, contain stimulants and amphetamine-based and methyl-based salts. I take these medications for my ASD and ADHD and my shoes and belongings would test positive, as well. There was not enough evidence other than circumstantial evidence. If that man were to have had a seizure and this had happened in the United States of America, it would be a very valid and easy District Federal Court case. Plus, that officer would have lost his job. Also, (you can tell I have ADHD), why is he not taking the advice of the doctors looking at the X-ray (asking them if they are sure), why is he disappointed? Did he want a catch "for telly"? What is his formal education? It makes me infuriated.

I work at the customer service department in a big box store. The hardest part of my job is trying to control my temper when people lie and snark. The big one these days is "I'm returning this item which I bought 7 months ago because I had Covid and I couldn't get out" (one "lady" was also returning things which she'd bought within the last 4 months and 2 months.....grrr)

@@napjohn88 my job is to accept responsibly returned items, not to be lied to and treated like a moron. If stores are fleeced by cheaters, EVERYONE pays the cost with increased prices. Just look at the inflation rate of 2022 ! This is a response to ridiculous gas prices and to costs incurred during Covid. No store can operate when it is losing money. People lying when returning expired/out of season items are fraudsters. Why do I care ? Because everyone should.

1:05 why is the music very loud and thus completely suppressing the connector in the background? and this is not the first video where these fundamental flaws are ... I assume that no one checks this, as is typical of today, before it is published.

I know a lot of people complain, but I actually have good experiences with customs at Heathrow and Gatwick. A cute little dog, employed by HM Revenue and Customs, fell in love with my rucksack, as I had 5 g medical cannabis in it (licensed and approved for the treatment of multiple sclerosis). Apparently it wasn't common in the UK, and I've had bad experiences in other countries where MCs aren't allowed, but the customs officers were very nice and curious about how it worked.

He could be taking that money to give to somebody else or to help his own family - there are a lot of reasons people could be carrying cash ! The people the other end may not have a bank account = plus actual Dollars or Euros or Pounds are worth more in some countries than their local currency ! And I guess that's part of the problem - the authorities don't like money travelling anywhere without them knowing about it ! We are all supposed to keep it in a bank, where it could be seized at any time by the government just by making a declaration ! Really if the cash is within the limit the person is allowed to take in or out of the country, then they really have no business treating them like a crook !

I've flown eleven times and have never felt nervous around security/guards/police. I've been called for jury duty nine times so I was scanned many times for weapons. But, that's just me. Some people are just nervous normally. I mean some cops will try to bust you just for looking at them in the wrong way. Maybe the guy with the car was going to score on some things in France, but it didn't work out.

Its not about how many times you ran into authority. Ive flown over 200 X and still get nervous even though ive never done anything wrong (based on how i must act i always get checked for drugs or b**bs) lol... I even get nervous crossing a cop car when im behind the wheel in the city. So yeh just depends on people
