oh yeah, the problem that Zeon has here is their ground forces all had to be trained in space sure they may have the same knowledge base as the feds regarding ground warfare on a large scale, but that knowledge base started becoming obsolete once the war began plus the fact that with the focus on mobile suit development, all the thinkers and research that could be dedicated to improving army ground forces was already tied up, unlike the federation which not only had more manpower but thinktanks during the time of zeon making it's way to earth honestly even without the Gundams the federation was always going to out tech zeon and the moment that happened the manpower difference would get leveraged harder and harder until zeon got grounded down.

The Red Shoulder Color on the Red Wolves is homage to the Armored Trooper Votoms Red Shoulders. In my opinion, this is an Alternate Universal Century [AUC] close to Thunderbolt AUC based on Mobile Suit design alone. Depending on the mission the Zeon Forces are in, Mobile Suits for Zeon should always be center of their Combat Doctrine - think of German Tactics in WW2 with Blitzkrieg. An argument can be made due to being November (Near end of the OYW), they were being more careful on deploying Mobile Suits. Unless they were trying to lure the Feddies out, then deploy the Mobile Suits. By this time Earth Federal Forces would've already started mass deployment of their own Mobile Suits. Also, Operation Odessa is about to begin over in Odessa, Ukraine - which is November 7th in the UC timeline. (But again, this seems AUC - so we'll see where this goes) Can't wait to watch it, but the expectations are not so high for this one.

Mobile suits are essential to the Zeon Forces, but they certainly are not the be all end all to their operations. Did you forget groups like Cuaran from the "Time, Be Still" episode of First Gundam? You still have foot soldiers fighting and carrying out operations. There were entire areas of fighting that didn't have the luxury of an abundance of mobile suits (some had none) to subjugate. There's nothing in this that indicates any sort of alternative continuity (which is a fallacy anyway).

This is set in Romania. Although it is close to Ukraine, it is questionable whether the Earth Federation Ground Forces could have deployed ground-based GMs here in large numbers, as the ambush with Type 61 tanks suggests that GMs were not that well deployed. This is just my own personal opinion. Don't worry about it.

Looks a bit off, as late as November OYW, the Federation Forces seems a little under-equipped ( although this is debatable since Odesa's counterattack came from the western Europe which is probably where the Federation had all the new good weapons and stuff but I understand that this is from the man behind the alternate UC, Gundam Thunderbolt, the scene also features only 4 min so I can't judge anything right? ). The Zeon soldiers are not looking very "reactive" to the ambush considering they are on the verge of defeat ( by not very reactive I mean their animation and faces that reminded me of Mass Effect ) not to mention the Dopp tank that didn't show its ejecting feature on its turret. I was not expecting much ever since its first trailer from last year ( especially the western-ish main characters ) I guess it could attract some new fans to the series but be warned that if you guys want to try Gundam, this one does not fully represent or capture the original Universal Century.

Just you they are the standard Zaku II. The Zaku is such a cool design that other mobile suits in the series took inspiration from them like the main bad guys of Gundam Wing.

That's because it's made with a video game engine. You can't really compare a limited tv series style (and budget) to a blockbuster movie VFX. Besides, we barely had a minute of the RX-78 in that film, and it wasn't terribly impressive in itself.
