Honestly though, the comparison of Lin to Jonathan is so spot on because you see people so often who say "I don't watch musicals, but I've seen Rent and Hamilton." Those are the two that stick out and were revolutionary and a catalyst for generations of creative people. There are people on this Earth right now who are only embracing their passions and their creative side because of Hamilton. Because In the Heights showed them they were allowed. Because of Moana and Encanto. There are children whose lives have been forever changed because of those songs. Lin is our generations Jonathan. And I am so unbelievably grateful for both

Sure ik he's had problematic things in the past but the fact stands, he searched for opportunities and never stopped trying, and neither did Johnathan. To artists like me and so many other people in the world this movie is not only and inspiration, but a sort of catalyst to leading young artists into pursuing what they've always wanted to do, create, and inspire. TTB truly showed me that I AM allowed, I am able and I am going to at the very least, try. And at its core, thats what this movie is about:trying.

the one thing i take away from andrew's performance in this scene (as well as the entire movie) is the raw emotion he shows. especially here and in "why". he took pain and emotion from his own experiences and put it all here. he took this project to help heal his own grief, with the death of his mother from cancer (i can relate, i lost family to the same thing, actually the same month of the same year as andrew did. crazy). i see where he is coming from, and i look up to him because he gave me a better understanding and insight on what loss is, how to deal with it and move forward and keep living life. the way he looks at it is so beautiful and inspiring and helpful. he makes it seem, like, not hard. he talks so positive about it. you can see what all this means to him, it shows. forever grateful for him.

I'm as obsessed with Andrew Garfield as everyone else is in these comments, but holy hell, props to everyone else in this production as well You can tell how much love and care went into telling this story in the way they talk about their love of theatre and Jonathan Larson. It really just sparks a whole new appreciation for the art. God, I love this movie
