I’ve had companies respawn to me about clinical trials but they would refuse my case because they aren’t currently treating chronic pain yet but have plans to according to their reply, I just have to be consistent and keep up with the companies I want to participate with I’m 3 years in with a persistent headache, if it takes a decade, I’ll wait the decade

I am tbi survivor of about 24 years! Despite the many years I've had to learn to live with this condition, I still deal with issues from it on a daily basis! I was 16 when my injury occurred and have had to either learn new ways to do things I love or just had to give them up entirely(playing music and doing gymnastics!). I can understand how this would be so beneficial for anyone who has had similar injuries! Keep up the good work!

Unfortunately, Neuralink is a decade+ away from helping Americans with partial paralysis, due to FDA slowdowns, and even further from helping other countries' citizens because of their own FDA type organization. It will happen within her lifetime, but not within her childhood.

I'm saving up funds, and gathering partners for when Neuralink finishes up enough FDA testing to allow for cybernetic mobility & prosthetics. My best guess is this is 10-12 years away from public availability. With the long-term goal of making a Full Dive system (think Matrix). Which is approx 18-22 years away.

What I don't ever see mentioned is the perfect timing of this tool. Imagine how many boomers we have in the world that are going to be experiencing mental defects because of aging. All on set within the next decade. Neuralink is coming at the perfect time to ameliorate some, if not all, of that harm.

This is wonderful news. I wish I could get in touch with Neuralink. There is a high chance that this technology will restore my ability to walk. I am a paraplegic in South Africa and after some rehab I am able to walk short distances on my own without any assistance or walking aids. I can already walk a little on my own but not fast or far. This could be the thing that helps me make a complete recovery and I would love to participate in the trials

I'm a t4 paraplegic with almost too much feeling but not all controlled movement it happened after I flew 60ft out the passenger windshield while 4 months pregnant with my son. He's in a wheelchair because he has cerebral palsy either from the accident or from how he was birthed with a suction to his head. But this is freaky how easy it would be to control ppl with this stuff?

I know things are developing quickly as far as technology and science together I'm waiting for winter to be done so I don't miss any therapy insurance only pays about 90 days of therapy if you're lucky then they send you home but I'll be getting a new wheelchair around then as well so I'll be discussing all that with the therapist I get. I see my future as a walker I have too much sensation and can wiggle my toes so I'm working on it.

I truly believe this is the future and will do many things to help BUT he needs to keep focused on this particular project. There are times he's thinking to far like gaming or other things like that...then he gets critics that focus just on the nonessential stuff instead of what the original intent was. The future will come for that stuff but not now FOCUS on the medical part that will help the people with the issues and not lose track of it. Keep up the good work!

If you watch Shivon Zilis' video, the chip has to be installed on different sides of the brain to read-write different functions. So far they have the cortex and it's located on the crown. But if you wanted say, a visual cortex, the Link would have to be installed in the back of your head. And emotional function is obviously in the deep part of your brain, so they don't know how to install it that deep yet. If you wanted to improve your planning skills, you'd have to have it installed in your forehead, I'm assuming. So, obviously don't hold your breath. the reason i hate the idea of neuralink is cuz i know profit drives the world. the ppl who need this is a small portion of the population which isnt that much profit. i do know they need this and im all for helping them, but i cant help but think they are being used as lab rats to develop a product for the masses later on, and then the whole thing feels a tad bit wrong to me. the technology is both cool and scary. scientists have already controlled the brains of animals by signals. that will be in our future as well. this is technology which has really bad downsides for us. and it will end up in the wrong hands for sure. rather them fix the spinal cord somehow.

I don't like this because it is inevitable that it will come into the wrong hands that will use it for control of people in the future and they will never have rest. Someone will probably hook people up to the internet or some sort of programmable computer where the person will be totally and completely controlled with or without consent. It is going to become a damnable thing, but that will not stop them from moving forward even though the team already knows it will become capable of destroying humanity as we know it, period.

Every technology can be used for bad. The idea is to minimize how often its used for bad and maximize how often it's used for good.

I suppose it would be crueler still to have the technology and not try to do something good with it. In the long run God's will comes to fruition. Personally that is what I look forward to.
