Dude mood and same. A boy hit on me in high school and the only way I found out is other people told me he was crushing. I literally only knew him as “that dude”, like I don’t talk to him, ever. He’s a background character for me. My biggest impression of him was “grumpy” and frankly, I’m not even sure that it was. My memory 10+ years later is extremely vague when it comes to anything about this dude. That’s how little I thought of him. And YET I got smacked in the face with “yo he’s flirting with you” and “you really gonna keep leading him on like that?” (Apparently *I* was acting flirty by being nice to him) And uh. I been gaslit like this too, only mine's kinda a bit darker. So I'm blind, like totally blind, and about 4 years ago, I got raped by my at the time roommate. It was my first time living on my own, and when I told my mom what happened, her exact response, and I kid you not was, "How do you know you got raped, your blind." It took me 4 years to ask her why she said this to me and she vehemently denies that this ever happened. She says I'm definitely remembering this wrong and that she'd never say this to me. But in the same breath says that there's no way I can be sure I got raped since I was drugged at the time and was slipping in and out of consciousness whilst it was happening.

Hey derpy, i havent had much to say the last few episodes but this one I have to say something. First off this part is sorta unrelated to the story but other people on the internet using the word gaslighting without knowing the meaning annoys me so much as a victim (Yes I said victim, if you've experienced it you'd say the same its not an alright thing to do to somebody under any circumstance) of true gaslighting for most of my life, like doing/saying something right in front of your face and not even 30s later saying you're hallucinating and crazy type of gaslighting like what you experienced but to a much worse degree. WARNING If someone you're dating does this even once, I suggest running, for your own good even if everything else has been green flags so far you will regret it I promise you that. That was a crazy story its always the true delusional ones gaslighting and calling people delusional. Its hard to deal with, can be very mentally taxing you start believing maybe you are delusional even after witnessing it with your own eyes not 10s beforehand Also W to her boyfriend dude was broken yet was smart enough to know its not on you and took it in stride, I know at that age most (dumb) kids would probably starting fighting you on the spot I've seen that happen first hand when I was out with some friends no joke

Yeah, I've been gaslit before in a past relationship of mine, but true to form, I don't even know if it was "true" gaslighting or just a number of misunderstandings that got out of hand. But I guess in the end, the result was the same, so I needed to cut him out of my life, and I did. Again, it's hard to know if this was on purpose or not, but he had a habit of lying about stuff I'd said or done in the past. If I got snippy with him because they did something I thought was kinda cruddy, it would transform into me losing my shit and virtually SCREAMING at him for no reason at all. He did this so often that I would even take him at face value and assume I'd done what he said I did, because my memory is shit anyways and Why Would He Lie. He had me thinking I was an awful friend and worse person, and would even parrot the same lies to my other friends, making them think I was basically bullying him behind the scenes. This all happened on Discord (luckily imo) but he was also a master of showing my other friends out of context screenshots that made me look like a crazy asshole. Again, this all happened on Discord, so I had acess to screenshots, too. It took him telling a huge stinker of a lie to my bff I've known since high school (we're in our early 30s now) for us to find him out. It was his usual "Scoot flipped out and yelled at me just because [x]!!!" Schtick when they knew good and well that I wouldn't have given a single shit about that. With their help, I broke it off with him for good. That relationship really fucked me up and tbh I'm still recovering from it. I've always feared I was "secretly a bad person" and whether it was by chance or on purpose, he played into that fear perfectly. It's so disorienting not being able to trust yourself, and this relationship was about 3 years long, so it wasn't a minor thing (although I should say it didn't really start getting bad until about a year and a half into it).
