I wish there were more people like you. Most people don’t care what the elderly eat . The meals the government sends out is nasty. Most say you will eat it if you hungry enough. Even dogs don’t like it. You have a good heart. Most elderly used to cook and can’t anymore. The men miss their wife’s cooking.

I do similar but everything in a zip lock bag so I can pick out what I want each meal. I keep proteins and veggies in separate storage bins in the freezer. That saves so much space, too and I can have just what I want rather than what's already dished into the trays. I figured that out before I wasted so much money on the freezer trays.

A tip for those buying whole cuts of meat like this pork loin where you cant always see how much fat is on the back side. Pick it up and bend it. The fat is firmer when cold. The loins that bend easily are leaner. No need to pay full price for fat. This works when picking whole briskets or any other whole boneless cut of meat.

Been thinking about making Salisbury steak for a long time now. Thanks for the “kick in the pants” and the recipe! I bought a huge sale pork shoulder roast around New Years, as one does. Just two of us, but why not have extra to play with. Did half on pellet grill and canned 4 quarts (raw pack) with the rest. Went overboard on buying sale burger (30 lbs), and now have 7 meatloaves and around 100 meatballs vacuum packed in the freezer. Already had quite a bit of burger canned. One thing I can say, we ain’t gonna starve! And maybe I can share😊

Good Video. I do some things a little different but overall very close. What and How do you heat up your meals? That part is the key to having them taste good like fresh. Your trays are huge compared to mine - do you leave the food in the trays and heat in the microwave or take the food out and put in a oven suitable container and bake them? Remember our first tv dinners - always went in the oven - they were good in those days actually.
@LittleVillageHomestead5 күн бұрын
