That’s exactly what I was doing -investing too much in my previous relationship , taking care of him , making surprises for him … I honestly thought he would follow my example and start doing the same for me . But he didn’t . “I’m different “ , he used to say , “not so emotional as you are . Should I make myself do all these romantic things for you ? It’s hard to change myself in my late forties …” After 5 months ( three of which I lived with him at his place ) I broke up with the man , but I learnt my lesson : don’t be too good for smb , don’t try too much , because some men don’t love kind-hearted and nice women , they prefer cold and unattainable ones … Stupidly, I deprived him of the necessary “hunting “. I was too easy to conquer . As a result , he stopped pleasing me . Really , why should he have bothered to do that if his “prey” was already in his hands , willingly cooking delicious meals and always ready to have sex with him ?😂

I inadvertently did this with my partner of a decade because of an illness, I can’t cater to him so he caters to me, I’m completely surprised he is still with me because I really do pretty much nothing for him except exist and ‘grace him with my presence’ 👹😅
@angelm64976 ай бұрын
If you love someone you will look after them with their illness. But it needs to be reciprocal in some way. The breaking point in my last relationship was after years of catering to him, building his career while I lost my own looking after him and my son, when I was ill and the money stopped coming in, he turned. My illness was a nuisance to him. Fortunately, I never gave up my independence, but he left me in a mess financially.
@Ida-Adriana6 ай бұрын
@@angelm6497 I’m sorry you went through that, how unfair of him, I’m glad you kept your independence, I wish I knew how, mental illness and adhd/autism (which im trying to get treatment but uk healthcare is absurd, been on waiting list for over 1 year) make it such a struggle, the most basic things become overwhelming sometimes

This is fantastic and clear advice! Sometimes tho, it’s about the opposite outcome where the man is coming on too strong, too fast trying to push and force things along without really including you in the dynamic right out the gate or even after you’ve expressed how you feel and it becomes clear that this man is out to meet his own needs without looking out for the well-being of both of you, what you’re comfortable with, considering how you feel, including you in decisions in plans etc. The man may appear to be crazy about you but his intentions and reasons may be for his own gain solely and this is what we have to be able to discern quickly. Often times women can be thrown off by this thinking that the man is doing all the right things and wanting to move things forward. What can appear to be the man taking on a masculine role actively making plans, calling you, seeing you etc., with the wrong man, can be stemming from a very insecure attachment where this man is looking to control everything, making all the decisions about where you’re going what you’re doing without including you in the dynamic of whether you want to do something or can do some thing. Maybe even showing up unexpectedly multiple times thinking that they’re surprising you or even bringing you gifts in these surprise visits with the idea the gift overrides the disregard of whether your home (or your kids) are home, and if you’re not home and your kid answers the door and the guy is offended that you’re not there and thinks the “joke is on him”. I’m talking in the very early stages of dating, maybe having only been on two or three dates. Yes I’ve actually had this happen! Thankfully I could see this early on and move on. The oddest thing was even after I let him know this wasn’t feeling right and would be moving on he continued to pursue me only to text me that the plans I had with my family and errands I had to do were things that don’t really feel like someone who is interested in him so “see ya around hun” was his text reply in an effort to flip the script and feel like he ended it.

I realised at a very young age, love was like a mental illness. It can make you do and put up with things that you wouldn't do or take from anyone else. Apparently someone wrote this phrase down a long time ago, but it was a realisation for me, then surprised to hear it had already been documented. Can't remember who said it.

Ok,but what if you feel that you are mostly the one that initiates a conversation when a few days passed. When you write to him, he even says you make him smile, he seems like enjoying to have conversations with you, you flirt, you share , you laugh but then when you decide to give space and see if he takes the initiative to text you first, he just doesn’t . Weeks could pass and he just doesn’t even dare to text you first.. what would we , as women do? Because in a subtle way you end up feeling that you are the chaser.
@HelenaHartCoaching9 ай бұрын
Is this a man that you’re dating and seeing regularly? In my opinion and experience, a man who’s truly interested isn’t going to let weeks go by without talking to you. 💜
@frankG3352 ай бұрын
That means he's not that into you.
@cup_o_TMarieАй бұрын
I have been there so I know how bad this can feel. Sadly dear it’s not subtle, you did become the chaser & he knew you would so he didn’t try. But most men aren’t going to fully reject you because their ego likes the idea of having you as an option when he needs an ego boost. Men circling the block to come back to connect with you doesn’t necessarily mean that he has great intentions with you & that was a hard lesson for me. The unhealthy men often come back because they love the benefits they’re receiving even if you’re not sleeping with him. It can be simply your feminine energy & emotional support. The unhealthy men aren’t into the essence of you as much as what they are getting from you so you’ll see that in their actions or lack thereof. You’ll know when a man is cherishing you vs desiring you. You’ll know if he shows up consistently vs intermittently. It’s honestly mostly in his actions over his words. Take care 🤍

If he hasn't initiated contact in over a year, how do you communicate with him about that? I tried to let go of him because he was letting me put it all the effort in initiating, but I still struggle with lingering feelings. I don't want to cut him off entirely or have a big fight. I finally broke the silence last week after all this time and texted him with "Hey stranger, it's been a long time since I've heard from you. I thought I would check in and see how you're doing. 🙂" He didn't text back for 2 days, and then texted me after midnight to ask how I was doing and "I miss you so much!". I was asleep when he sent it, and then I was busy with work, so it was several hours before I responded. I was so happy to hear that he missed me that I texted back that missed him too and told him about my life, completely overlooking that he never apologized or really addressed the distance. And then he took another 2 days to respond. We have never kissed or even dated, there was just deep attraction and daily hugs from him before he moved out of state. Maybe he was never really into me in the first place...

He doesn’t pursue me anymore. We been on and off for 5 years . I am tired of chasing him or bed for his attention. We have sex maybe once a month or sometimes 2 months -not like that first year.

While I don’t know the details of your situation, “on and off“ for five years is usually a red flag. That being said, these videos might be helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3zbgmSQZZySjs0si=7-vOXbEII-S-H6-X and kzbin.info/www/bejne/hYrTnJiwfbpqpZosi=AzldHYsnjeDxkb8I.

I asked for his future plan, and he got annoyed, ending, we had an argument.. he asked for space and he did not give me time frame despite of asking him. I reached out after 2 days and still did not receive any response. should i continue providing him space, even tho it means forever?

Oh my goodness if he’s reacting like this to a “ normal “ question then he’s not serious about you right now. Maybe later but not now. I would go NO CONTACT. Don’t block. Just stop reaching out. Get busy and go out & watch him come back. And if he doesn’t then he’s not worth ur time. Keep watching these videos for advice 🙏

Hi Helen! I'm appreciating the advice on getting my man to chase me, and to invest less so he can invest more! The problem I experience is when he gets talkative...egad!!! He talks more than any woman I know!!! sometimes I want to yell "shut the **** up!" bc he can talk hours about the most boring drivel😞His talking is sometimes ok, but he can more often than not talk for 3 hrs about some pathetically boring topic which makes me anxious! I become anxious bc I feel like I'm wasting large portions of my day as he beats me to death with metaphors (as though I didn't get the point the first time!!!) I cannot for the life of me get him to "Get to the point" in under an hour:-(( What can I try short of avoiding some conversations??? I almost get to the point I don't want to make any comments for fear he'll run with it! Help!!! Any suggestions?? I'm baffled??!!

And you are after him WHY?? Is it just his looks? Is it just because he's male and is there. Kind of sounds like you may have a disrespect problem (on your part, not his) you might look up what to do if a person you like talks too much I don't know. But you should probably stop your roll your eyes at him attitude, because he may catch on and leave you behind. Right now he enjoys sharing with you.

I’m going thru this right now my bf of a little over 2 yrs ask for space. He said that the relationship is boring and he’s lacking sexual attraction towards me and that he’s really scared for me to move in with him. We’ve talked about moving in several times and he was fine but now he’s scared and the relationship is boring and doesn’t have sexual attraction towards me. I’asked him how much time he needs and he told me he really doesn’t know. Plz help me this is so hard we are both adults in our mid 30’she says he does love me .

Why moving in with someone you aren't married to? You want to be used and dumped?
@fatsilver59057 ай бұрын
You have the answer, you just don't want to see it: he's not into you. Neither are you into you. Learn respect for yourself and you won't have to force anything or anyone. All the love to you❤

See ya to him! Move on to greener pastures doll! Time is too precious to let your heart stay stuck on a perosn that could be posionist to you!

Go no contact, it's in people nature to take things for granted,either he will realise your worth or won't but then you would not want to be with someone who doesn't want you

Honey these are SERIOUS red flags. The things he said to you are serious and harmful and mean. He has said he doesn't want a healthy relationship very meanly. He won't tell you the truth (because he's a coward and dishonest) But he's probably leering out on other women.

So this guy says he likes me and spending time with me. Yet he’s sarcastic and cold sometimes over text…. We’re late 30’s… is he just emotionally immature forever? Or just doesn’t respect me.
