Now, I want to assume that the people filming were well-intentioned, truly believed that they were helping the sharks, but that they also completely lack any goddamn common sense. They’re like if a movie or tv show gives you a truly incredible bar fight scene (the virtuous act of thinking you’ve saved the lives of a litter of baby sharks), but nowhere else in the movie or show is it acknowledged that the poor bar owner suffered really serious property damage from the fight in his bar (being totally ignorant to how animals survive after birth), and we’ll never know if the bar owner was able to keep his insurance deductible from going up. How in the hell is that legal, anyway? Deductibles going up. Don’t we pay our insurance providers monthly for nothing so that they can use it to cover the expense of when we actually need something? And we and the insurance companies both take a gamble on how much healthcare we would require in a year. Only, the house always wins. They have that exact data, and the average American probably spends pretty damn close to our deductible on healthcare a year. That means, when most Americans tally up the score, they’re paying their insurance companies insanely high monthly fees, and then are also getting billed by the same company for most (if not all) of the medical care they receive that a year anyway. All so wealthier people, who tend to go to the doctor more because they can afford insurance, can get procedures and treatments and the medical attention that the rest of us need but won’t ever get. But when they actually NEED it? Oh- then that gets paid by tax dollars. In a country where the poor are paying a higher tax rate than the multi-millionaire who just got a pre-cancerous mole removed. And we all just accept this. Because the politicians we vote for AND PAY take huge bribes from the insurance companies to protect their own interests, not yours. Not the ones who are paying for their kid’s braces. And guess what? We just accept that too! And no one seems to actually care enough to do anything about it. So yeah, let’s switch gears and give a shit about those poor fucking sharks! I don't know if it's because the mouth have more nerves and stuff going on but the anesthesia they use when getting major oral surgery done is pretty strong. I've had regular surgery done and in about 15-30 mins from waking up I was very lucid. However, when I gotten wisdom teeth taken out and an implant post put in at the oral surgeon's office, I kid you not, I don't remember getting home, going back out to pick up prescriptions, or anything else for a whole 24 hours afterwards.

The Humane Society suggests stopping resource guarding. The dog was displaying some pretty concerning behaviors that indicate high stress. The deep growling was one thing. Also worrying was the whale eyes, where it's easy to see the whites. He was licking his chops, which indicates stress. And barking while turning its head is a step below air snapping, which is a step below an actual bite. Unfortunately, dogs that resource guard can have sad outcomes. I know someone who had to put their dog down because the untreated resource guarding led to the dog biting a small child trying to get a hairbrush back.
