Excellent review with quite a lot in the box with even more to learn, looks fascinating.

Thanks, coyi! I'm curious to see how it plays, I'm hoping I can get a practice game in before the weekend. :)

@@ZillaBlitz I have a work event in LA in the late afternoon, so I will be playing early. If we don't play, maybe we can schedule something another day.
@ZillaBlitz2 жыл бұрын
Ah, okay, no worries. If we can't make it work during the event, for sure, we should see if we can figure a game out after that.

I used to be anti-sticker, but now I have two Commands & Colors games. That quickly cured me of that. LOL And GMT always includes extra pieces, which is very nice.

I confess that I like stickers. Something rewarding about assemble and play. I might have to check out Commands and Colors then. Just for the stickers. :)

@@ZillaBlitz Ha! Yeah, those games are for sticker-lovers. They're also quick scenarios, which is nice (though I haven't played any yet). I am still, however, not a counter clipper and I doubt I will be. Glad a lot of these are pre-rounded already. One of the best things about Time of Crisis!
@ZillaBlitz2 жыл бұрын
@@whovian223 I don't mind counter clipping, either, until my wrist goes numb. Interesting that the C&C scenarios are quick. I think I'd leaned away from them because they weren't incredibly solitaire friendly.
@whovian2232 жыл бұрын
@@ZillaBlitz They're not solitaire friendly, though the new GMT solo system that's shipping shortly actually includes C&C: Ancients in it.

@@whovian223 Oh, I have ordered that, to support Stuka Joe and because I have Paths of Glory. ... This conversation is getting pre-expensive.

I keep thinking about getting this. The upcoming games in the series are really appealing to me.

Yes, the core mechanics can apply to a wide range of history, for sure, and it seems like there will be a wide range of games coming out in the next couple of years. It'll be interesting to see how it progresses.

I somehow didn't realize there were stickers. I guess I'm out :(. I was never a huge fan of stickers anyway, but I suffered a serious hand injury a couple of years ago and I just can't put stickers on very well.
@ZillaBlitz2 жыл бұрын
Ah, sorry to hear that. If it's any consolation, there are 14 stickers, so not so many.
@ThymeKeeper2 жыл бұрын
@@ZillaBlitz Some consolation, but even if there was 1, I wouldn't be able to get it on correctly. Although I have put stickers on the map for Gloomhaven Jaws of the Lion. The problem is putting a small sticker on a small component. Sorry for the whining. It's a sore spot.
@ZillaBlitz2 жыл бұрын
Totally understandable. These are smaller stickers on a relatively small target, for sure. :)

I am hearing a lot of positive buzz regarding this series. I like the background book with all the history and examples of play. The artwork for the map and play aids are gorgeous. However, I will admit that the historical time periods for the first two games do not really interest me. I might wait until the Plantagenet game comes out later on before I pull the plug and pick up a copy.
@ZillaBlitz2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I can see that, for sure. I think that's one of the reasons I held off for a good while, too. The background book is a great addition for this, as it paints that context for someone like me who knows little about this time period.
