1:11 Those refractors on the LEDs are Fresnel lenses. They help spread out the light waves to hit a larger surface. It's technology that was adopted from lighthouses. They are often used in the bottom UV LED portions of resin 3D printers these days. Elegoo uses them in theirs.

My concerns are for the basket. As i print smaller miniatues (28mm etc), I expect a huge headache in repeatedly draining that tub to retreive tiny pieces that came loose/ slipped thru the basket.

It's not rocket science to take some plastic sewing grid and cut it to size then zip tie it to the bottom.

Get a UV light , turn off your lights and then hold the light to the tank...it will cure the bits in the tank and also any resin that is dilluted in the water, leaving you clean IPA

@harvey66616Ай бұрын
I've watched dozens of videos showing various wash and cure options for resin printing, and I still can't find info on the finer details about the process, especially the curing. For one, what do you do with models that have interior holes, which will be shaded from the UV lamp regardless of orientation as the model rotates within the curing station? Does this just require multiple passes with the model placed differently each time in the hopes that all the interior space will eventually get coverage? For another, and related to the previous, what about solid models? Surely the UV light can't always penetrate all the way into the model, even with translucent resin. Do you just wind up with a skin of cured resin, and uncured resin inside the model? I have seen examples of _hollow_ models -- with some kind of gap in the geometry to allow resin to drain from the interior -- but what if you really need or want the model to be solid throughout? How does all that extra resin get cured?

Hi Jessy! Been watching your videos for a while, lurking and learning. Just curious, what's your typical habits for safety when printing resin? I'll tend to be fully masked and gloved up whenever I'm anywhere near resin or touching anything resin could have possibly touched, and cleaning every surface with ISO alcohol so I don't have residual resin from my gloves on things while touching other things. I notice you seem to be fairly lax making videos with resin and the resin bath around you, so I was curious if you use masks and gloves basically every time or are there instances where you don't need to worry about it as much? I appreciate it! Thanks for the great content, friend!

I like the removable plate. I hope they sell them separately because my cure station plate gets really sticky and gross after a few months. Occasionally there is alcohol mixed with resin inside the print that tends to leak out making the plate dirty.
