@@RichOnTrack Ah yes. There's a lot of research that shows the KW output from an OBD2 connector apparently. Basically 475 WHP is a cold/warm battery @ 90% SOC (state of charge) However you can achieve up to around 600-610WHP with a 135F Battery @ 90% SOC as well apparently. I'm not 100% on this as I haven't had time to try it but they're using devices to record and track the exact KW discharge/output from the battery. A pre heated battery @ 70% will be faster than a cold/warm battery @ 90%. So it's very important to warm/preheat the battery for racing.

Really? A BMW G80 X Drive M3 gaps the Model 3 performance over 1/4 mile and is way faster around a track. It will also do it all day long without running out of juice. 1/8th mile means nothing. Thats just the electric motor doing its thing. Once the Tesla gets to about 110mph the acceleration drops off rapidly and the others just breeze past. Sure the Model S Plaid addresses that with much more power, but even that with the track pack fitted is 10 seconds slower around the Nurburgring than a BMW M4 CSL with half the power. Nice runs! Is your car totally stock? How much charge did you show up out there with and did you notice much ET fall off in the 20% of battery you used?
@RichOnTrack Жыл бұрын
Thank you ! Yep completely stock model 3 performance! I show up with 85-90% and use about 20-30% of the battery for my the entirety of the event. I don’t notice a drop off in ET times. Maybe 0.1 of a second as the battery drains but it could be due to cooling temperatures at the track.

Of course it’s stock. There is no aftermarket way to “tune” a Tesla. Tesla is even fighting “right to repair” laws that are trying to be passed,

Great to see drag racing in a Tesla thats not a Plaid MS! Who would have though Id be saying that as an owner of a 2014 MS RWD P85 135,000 miles and still doing 0-60 in 4.0 and still fun!. And thats the point here Tesla has shown with the Plaid you can rock up and take out drag cars, to see what the M3 can do is so interesting and of course the 1/8th mile plays into the hands of EVs. On the street a M3 performance will just pull ahead of my "classic" 2012 design MS but thats not bad for a near 10 year old car that has been hammered all its life. Yep had a Plaid on order but cancelled as here in UK they wont do RHD and £100k+ for LHD not happening......still got a Roadster on order......live in hope!

Thank you for watching. The Model S inspired me to make the switch when I first saw a model S owner chilling on the freeway with a newspaper and the autopilot driving for him. It’s cool to see how far Tesla has come in the relatively short time they have been making vehicles. I’m excited to see what the next 5 years holds for the company. You’ll get the roadster, it’s just gonna be a few more years hah

Nice vid but as an owner of a few lambos as well as a Model S performance.....it takes much greater skill to launch a lambo to perfection then it does to mash on the gas of the Tesla.

Thanks for the video, but I don't know why everyone is so obsessed in speed with the Tesla vehicles. Yes they do have good acceleration, but I bought my 2023 model Y LR for doing normal daily driving and to save some money from the gas pumps. Not Drag race and wear out my tires. I had a model Y dual motor in Germany. My SOC went from92 percent down to 28 percent in only 91 miles. At 28 percent/91 miles, I was looking for a charging station. Using a super charger you could charge an hour and drive an hour. Cost was 55-60 dollars to charge the car. Advertised range for this car was 243 miles. Cost is 73,000 euros. A 73,000 commuter car. Rich mans toy.

@@RichOnTrack Was on the autobahn not in the fast lane so going the same speed as everyone else. Around 80-85 mph. 2 times I did jump into the left lane and was doing 135mph for a min or so to test and my wife said that is good so back down to 80-85 in the next lane over once again. So. 99 percent of the drive was doing 80-85. This was last april so it was not hot nor cold. Also, the car would lose 1-2 percent SOC just being parked overnight. If it were not for my wife and time constraints, I would have done a fast lane SOC test. Wonder what kind of mileage the Model Y would get at over 100mph using only the left lane. I find it interesting that in all the EV testing no matter the manufacturer they do not post any mileage testing real world as I have done. This is very suspect. BTY. I am an Electronics Engineer and love electrics. My old Boss from Martin was also a EE and raced EVs back in the 1990's as we both love them. What I hate is all the blatant lies about EV's and the government push for them. Interesting that the very day I arrived in Germany was the last day for the last Nuke Powered Gen station was shut down. There are no more online Nuke Power Generators of Electricity in Germany. All coal and natural gas powered now. They do have Wind and Solar. Anyone that has lived there like me for years knows how little of the Sun you get. Winds can be big sometimes. And so, Germany does not have enough electric power now and has to import it from France which is Nuclear power. So.. It appears Germany is virtue signaling? What? BTY. I am no fan of Nuke Power Generation. U235 anyway. Japan is in an earthquake prone area, and Russia still does not know how to manage it.

Interesting data. EVs don't have anywhere near the range ot petrol cars and you will suffer a lot if you drive fast. Forget cruising at 85 mph. That said i live in the UK where most motorway traffic is 75 mph or below. Petrol and diesel fuel economy is bad at 85 moh as well and most people don't want to pay that. Also public chargers cost a lot in April, we've still got an energy crisis going on but it is improving. I charge at home and it cost me £10 for 130 miles. The home ownership experience is very very different to hiring.

Unfortunately the Model Y’s aerodynamics are not great at continuous high speed.
@LucrativeFuture Жыл бұрын
@@grabir01it sounds like there was a problem with that car. I’ve left mine at the airport for 10 days and lost 1%. Make sure sentry mode is turned off. I also drive 70 mph and consistently get less than 260 Wh/mi which would be around 280 miles of range. Of course that is slower than you were traveling but you shouldn’t get 70% less range just by increasing speed by 10 mph. Of course you have to stop more in an EV but you should never charge for an hour. 30 minutes tops. We have dogs and a baby so the car ends up waiting on us every time!
