I know it's odd but I can't help but feel Crichton's philosophy is that extinction is inevitable when it comes to the dinosaurs while I prefer how the movies in a way took it (and to an extent of course the novels since some escaped to the mainland) that de-extinction and thus survival is inevitable hence "Something has Survived".

There's no way there was another rex, we would have seen it." "Not a t-rex, sir, look at the manifest!" The confused look on the older man shifted to one of concern. On the paper, right below the adult buck's numerical designation was a similar though different number. The employees knew what the designation translated to: adult female velociraptor.

Before the big reveal, I honestly thought the mystery man was going to be Hammond. I mean, I suppose it's _kind_ of plausible that somebody rescued him before the Compies killed him, and, like Dr. Malcolm, the press simply got it wrong and he retreated to Sorna. I do see why Crichton cut it out, though. While I confess that I do like the idea of somebody living by themselves on the island as a sort of caretaker, making it Wu's suddenly-appearing brother felt kinda out of left field. And it would have been nice to have a little more build-up outside of Arby hacking into the systems and Eddie's offhand comment about how maybe there are still people on Sorna.

It could have easily just been the caretaker who wasn't the brother of Henry Wu, right? It would have worked for me. Also, while I'm thinking about it, was this possibly the kernel of the idea to have Eric Kirby surviving alone on the island in JP3? Also also, I always got the feeling that Michael Crichton novels really became the awesome books that they are when an editor got a hold of them. Like, Dr. Wu's secret brother being an eleventh hour revelation and the Deus Ex Machina saves our heroes sounds exactly like something he'd have not hesitated to just throw in. It took a good editor that wasn't in love with /scared of Crichton to say that that twist was kinda dumb and sounds like something from a badly written 90s TV drama.

i personally would have liked Muldoon or just a new character like the Isla Sorna head Vet or something. Maybe it is just that it is fresh to me but i think i might like the idea of a caretaker and having them exposite over the raft conversation we got. Got a look into another building of the village and just the fact thinking that the place was dead and a ghost town bothers me. But I get it would open a huge can of worms in terms of plot holes and stuff.... Now all i want is to see a manuscript that explains that mysterious shed that dodgson hid in. what was the equipment in there that was so important it got ripped out?!?!

I’m currently midway through rewatching your Trespasser playlist, and I wanted to let you know, Klayton, that I’m making a story based off Jurassic World, and, for the introduction to the story, I’m using the Hammond memoirs from Trespasser, and retooling them to fit more into the movie canon. Like, replacing “Norman” and “Atherton” with “Benjamin” and “Lockwood”, respectively. I’m also fixing the dates in the memoirs. My story isn’t canon by a long shot, but I’m still using a lot of plot points from the movies to help make the story feel like it could be turned into something completely canon.

So cool! I have no preference for the endings, but I like finally knowing what DX stands for. And it’s interesting to think that this new revelation was subtlety hinted at when Eddie discovered the island still had power. It seemed to me that it was setting up another person was on the island and had been using the laboratory instead of just Levine wandering through. When I read it the first couple times I kept thinking there were going to find someone living there. In any case, I just wish he did more interesting things with the villains.

+Cakeo Smakeo Considering the InGen Spinosaurus was a much more amphibious animal likely compared to Its predecessor; 2010 bio-isotope analysis concluded; I would say the shallow waters, the mud and beach Gen. Spinosaurus would easily win; InGen Plesiosaur; considering a larger one; only gets any advantage on deeper water; and good luck luring/fooling it there!

So awesome to get a snippet of new info about such an old book! I actually finished a re-read of it last night, so the timing here is fantastic! That said, this is a really half baked idea. A "secret brother" is a strained concept at best, but him living on Isla Sorna like some kind of Col. Kurtz or Dr. Moreau just seems really cheesy. Something I would have expected from JP3, or worse yet, one of my JP3 fanfics from 2002. It's easy to see why this was cut. Still, any new information about such an essential (and often overlooked) bit og JP canon is tremendously exciting. Will you be exploring this draft any further?

This actually brings closure to the books for me. Elliot represents that last vestige of InGen that's actually taking responsibility, the way Grant angrily confronted Gennaro about. Everyone else was too busy to do that 5 years ago. His brother Henry was busy dippin' and flippin' dinos for Hammond. Gennaro was busy trying to keep litigations and lawsuits down. Regis was busy cleaning up Hammond's messes. Arnold and Nedry were happy at their screens running test tours and scenarios. Couldn't tell sometimes how sober Muldoon was. Hammond himself was worried about how much the net worth of his hypothetical "legacy" was going to expand. Out of all those involved Harding seemed to care the most about the animals as he personally saw to their welfare; he didn’t see numbers or assets, he saw living creatures. But now those people are gone, either moved on with their lives or have turned in their JP Hats. Still busy.

I remember a rumor back when I was in school that the fourth Jurassic Park was going to be about the dinosaurs from site b washing up on the mainland and the government was looking to send Grant, Satler, and Malcolm back to the island with a team to research it. That was the whole rumor, but alongside the rumor I was told they were making a new Indiana Jones movie where he meets his son, and they were making a Halo 4 with the forerunners, and both of those ended up being true, the Jurassic Park 4 one never ended up being true though. Kind of a weird combo to put Halo and two movie franchises together in rumors, but that's what we wanted back then.

A missed opportunity that he wasn't Henry's clone. Or maybe he was.. Maybe it was meant to be implied, as once upon a time the franchise was much more obvious about the grey morality of the science InGen was using. I miss that part of the franchise, the action is great, the dinos are awesome but I miss thinking about the implications of cloning. It's downplayed so much now.

To be frank, it's kind of like how Benjamin Lockwood was added in since both Richard Attenborough died, and so has John Hammond. Elliot Wu seems more like a reincarnation of Henry Wu but without the name, since Dr. Wu died on Isla Nublar, so there was no feasible way to bring him back to life.

I random thought but this has been killing me over the last 20 plus years in the part of The Lost World film at the 1 hour 46 minutes and 1 second mark you can see into the cabin where the crew members were mysteriously slain. I know there was a theory that possibly there was an open cabin but you can see frames for windows which are also intact. Nothing to do with anything but I figured I'd point it out and narrow the possibilities. The search continues to figure out what could have torn that hand off the sailor who was steering the ship.

@Klayton Fioriti unpopular opinion: while I love the lost world, I don’t think that it’s the “darkest” film in the franchise. I mean sure lots of characters die terrible deaths in that film but there aren’t really any dark plot lines in that film. I mean you could argue that the original JP was the “darkest film in the franchise”. Even though there aren’t many dark plot lines in that film. I actually think Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is the darkest due to not only the horror elements but also due to some of the plot lines. I mean you haft to admit that the reveal of Masie being a clone and the Indoraptor (plus the hidden lore behind it) are very dark for a JP film. Plus some of the characters in the film such as WU and Mills are very creepy. I mean for gods sake it’s implied in the film that Masie hid in her room from the Indoraptor because she wanted to commit suicide just to escape it. And that mills wanted Masie because he wanted to create more human clones to start a human clone trafficking scheme And WU having a god complex. Do you agree with me? P.S also I third out that Gullemerio del toro actually helped work on Fallen Kingdom. I guess that’s why the films art direction/style looks so similar to some of his films and games he’s directed such as the shape of water and Silent Hill P.T.

Man, after the seeing the thumbnail, title & clicking this video... before I seen the actual duration, my devices volume was 0% & I was making myself comfortable, i precedly had my screen darker & my surroundings was visible through the screen due to it being sunset now night... then I saw an Ad displayed a black guy raising his head & looking directly towards the screen... It frightened me! Its a local political opposition ad in my country, whereas people of "6" ethnicity lives here... I'm not black though, its my 1st time seeing your channel(that includes Jeremy James prudchick & Alteori i stumbled upon a few seconds ago) & watching this video. So expect me to write comments on your previous videos... Talk to me!

If anything needed a different ending, it was the first book. The last 20 pages of that thing just soured the whole experience for me.

If Michael Crichton had kept this at the end of Lost World, it could have been a good cliffhanger set up for a 3rd JP novel. 🦖

I don’t know about Wu having a brother. It’s another repeat (second island, second brother) but I like the idea being used in film to give give Henry some extra motivation. Why does he do his experiments? What is his drive? Perhaps a younger brother desperately seeking approval would’ve head down this path and succumbed to the godlike feeling of power it gives.
