I keep a furnished studio apartment on Biliran island 🏝️, cost is 100$ a month, 4$ a month unlimited WiFi, 6$ a month for water, 5$ a month for cable. Electric depends on the AC u use. But about 40-80$ a month. Whole thing is less than 200$. Is in a gated community.

Things are a little different in Dumaguete. Many expats live here so that has driven the prices up

I am an American retiree right in the heart of Cebu and I have to say that is a very good value. I prefer an urban environment but that is newer than my $200 apartment which is older but on a similar setup unfurnished. New is great.

This is fresh and clean. I spent about 2k USD on furniture and I'm not done yet. Still need a TV and I like to cook so I want an oven. But it has to be electric and I just found one. I don't want a gas tank in the house.

I was the first tenant here. My unit is the one that she showed. I love it here. So quiet. No roosters. I haven't had to throw any rooster poison out in the yard yet.😄 I'm not going to be a full-time. So for the price, I can keep this and still maintain my condo in Florida. I do have to buy a car though. But this landlord is the nicest guy, he said no worries about leaving it here if I don't stay all year. People usually go to Florida for the winter, I left for somewhere even warmer. And it's warm here. Guys nothing is cheap here other than rent. Food prices are the same as in the US. Gas is more, Restaurants are fairly reasonable. Not the American chains. When I was in Manila I was eating in TGI Friday and me and my GF spent between 60&80 bucks. No fan of Filipino food. Sorry. BTW Monty & Araguel are awesome people. Please support their channel.

Eggs are cheaper, fresh fruit and veggies cheaper, oranges and onions expensive. But I keep hearing you need 480$ per month for food - 2 people. Yet, in the US or Canada it is 1000$ per month and more...

@@tedrobertson1344 no way. My husband and I live in Florida. My shopping bill is approx $125 a week, but that includes washing detergents, softners, soap, toothpaste, kleenex, paper towels, napkins etc. As well as all the food shopping, steaks, chicken, lamb, bacon etc etc. I love to cook, so I cook every night except Sundays. Fruit is cheap here and veggies. I have my own lemons, oranges, mangoes, papya, banana trees etc. Growing in our yard. Same fruits as in the Philippines really.

Yes thanks for sharing crew family. Yes I think it's a reasonable deal to specialist being brand new. The utilities would be pretty cheap too though being a small area. It's my dream to be in the Philippines Sunday only God knows if that'll happen it's just a dream right now. I know like any country there are ups and downs. I've never been in the Philippines but just from what I seen from so many different blogs that I've watched you over the years. The people there are so much more appreciative than they are here in United States over the littlest things to.
