New bait catches everything (Nolichucky River)

Awesome video man I called them Grampus my whole life until I was like 25 and somebody corrected me and said a grampus is a type of lizard so now I call them hellgrammites

We call ‘em hellgramites in California, and in rivers where they’re found, they’re brown trout candy

I’m a fan, I’ve owned one for a few years now and it’s done well for weddings, portraits sessions as well as landscapes and nature. Overall good camera.

Once the Grampus grow their wings later in the year you can still swat them out of the air, pull the wings off and use like you are.

Agree Grampus are the best bait spring of the year they use to be a store in Erwin that sold them but I think they quit when they sold out

Awesome video, and the grampus are definitely smallmouth candy. Some of my best days on the river fishing with them. We use to set up a seine net then flip rocks and let the river wash them into the net. It's definitely worth the work.

That’s so cool, at some point I would love to do a video with a seine net. I’ve watched a few videos and it seems like a very good way to collect them.

Definitely the best way, if you find a good spot you can fill a bait bucket pretty fast. But it is definitely easier with 2 or 3 people. We always did one on the net and one flipping rocks. When the rock flipper needs a break you just switch with net man.

They're called Grampus you say it like "Grampa" Gramp-us..You can catch them by the hundreds of you use a sein net to catch emm.Find a Swift current and have one or 2 people hold the sein net at the bottom of the current and you go upstream of the sein and walk and kick up as many rocks as you can and the Grampus will float downstream into the sein net .Done that many times years ago. Here in a few weeks the Grampus will grow wings and fly.

@@MichaelKaal-TriFisher YW bro you're not kidding about them pinching you they really hurt if they get ya. Also, if you have never tried them before try a strike king green pumpkin bitsy tube with a very light jighead or a 4" green pumpkin zoom strait tail worm with a small weight. Smallies in the Chucky will usually hit these when they won't hit anything else.

There’s a public access point just below the campgrounds in Irwin. Basically right across from the hostile there is a parking lot.
