And one more thing, Ducati are slightly overhyped (in my opinion). Don't get me wrong, they are insane machines. It seems to me that almost every car related YT channel turns to Ducati when they want to include a motorcycle in their videos. Somehow the more logical comparison in this video would be with the BMW M1000RR (the first M bike) or the S1000RR. This is not hate, just an opinion.

Yes. The brake test shows the difference in massive tyre contacts on the bus, compared to a front tyre contact the size of your palm on the bike. The weight of Al’s huge arse probably didn’t help either 🤣

The reason most fast car guys don't really understand how fast bikes can be is that most riders aren't able (or willing) to use what the bike can do. This shows what they can do when the rider knows what he's doing. Its also worth mentioning that most bikes like this are designed more for lap times around a track than outright straight line launches. There isn't really a balls to the wall straight line bike anymore since the Hayabusa went soft and everyone else gave up. Hayabusas and ZZR1400's tend to launch a lot harder than the superbikes can and aren't as wheelie prone. Thats why they were putting in similar acceleration times to this brand new, top of the line Ducati even when the Hayabusa was launched back in 1999. One of my bug bears is that top drawer cars can do pretty much what they like while straight line bikes are held back to the point where the entire genre is pretty much gone or emasculated to the point of irrelevance. Great vid, Joe. It might not have been a fair fight but its very welcome to see just some lads having fun because they can. Top stuff.

As a former Sportbike Rider,...this is quite interesting! Get this,...I use to tell guys in their so-call fast cars that I'd give them a 1-Mile lead on a 5-Mile run and I'd run them down and pass them! So many didn't believe me. Thing is, from a 'dig', the sportbike would make up 1/2 a mile in the first 20 secs and if it's not speed limited,...it' would blast by the car around mile 4! Hey Joe, why don't you line up that run?????

Even a mile long would not be long enough for that BMW A V4 Panigale will do a standing mile in around 24 seconds and would be trapping over 190mph. We are talking 720s P1 etc performance.

@@JoeAchilles1 yes a 765LT will beat any litrebike in the QM simply because it can get out of the dig better. A V4 Panigale would need to be lowered/strapped. But from a 70mph roll race it'd be very close with the bike probably gapping it a little and then the car realing it in. I have 2015 R1 with ECU flash and decat with stock wheelbase and height. I have a dragy 60-130mph of 4.75 which was on a slight incline and battling wheelies so could be quicker. That is very much 765LT ballpark. A panigale V4 would be slightlyly quicker than my R1

Short answer is no, Autocar ran a P1 and 918 against the previous generation 1299 Panigale Superleggerra, less HP than what AL is on and it beat them both handily until 190mph when the P1 reeled it in hitting well over 200, Bike magazine also just ran an s1000RR against a bunch of cars, Mclaren’s & Tesla’s etc, did not loose a run all day. Once a liter bike can put all its power down 80mph plus, then nothing comes close.

Try to get your hands on the 1000HP M5 from Evolve to make it more interesting. Science had already given the results before doing this race. I'm sure it was still fun to do. A lot of people focus too heavily on horsepower without factoring the power to weight ratio so hopefully some of these people watched. Cheers!

The X5 M competition is to slow for comparison at least use the X3 M competition with an aftermarket tune. That would be much closer still the bike would win but it would be more competitive.
