The Kanak people have been living on their land for more than 5,000 years while France has been occupying Kanaky since 1853. Down with French colonialism! Free Kanaky! The French did the same thing in Haiti, when after an uprising in 1802, the French under Napoleon arrested Toussaint Louverture after a so called meeting with military generals. Toussaint died in a French prison 8 months after his captivity after being denied medical treatment because he was so called Black.
