I lived in my car 2, use to park it right near the beach. It was nice waking up to those sun rises :)

So great that you can use the car battery system for things like heating and cooling.

Do you know if other hybrid vehicles (Toyota or not) have the same ability to use the heater/ac on the battery with the engine support when battery gets low?

I know all Prius do and I believe the new rav4 does that now as well. To my knowledge that’s all though.

That's really cool ! Saving so much on fuel leaves a person a larger budget to not have to cook! 😂 As long as you're comfortable in it! Nice looking ride too! 👍😎✌️💜

Finally I'm subbed to a channel with a smaller vehicle to live in than I do!!!! Prius seem a good option, especially for somebody who likes his 12 volt gadgets :-) I hope it works well for you Gastain.
@ChasinSimplicity6 жыл бұрын
I do love my gadgets! As soon as I get back to New Mexico I’ll see if I can do a tour. I’m crossing Texas right now. What vehicle are you in?
@h.bsfaithfulservant41366 жыл бұрын
@@@ChasinSimplicity. I'm in a Ford Escort van, which is about 5.5' long, 4'wide and 3.25' high in the rear. It used to be very stealthy, as there were loads of them on British roads until recently, but since they don't make them anymore they tend to stand out a bit now :-(
@ChasinSimplicity6 жыл бұрын
How cool! Sounds like very similar to my Prius.
@h.bsfaithfulservant41366 жыл бұрын
@@ChasinSimplicity Haha Gastain. If your Prius has a lot of rust and dints in it! The reduced size in the rear is due to my insulation...definitely need it in winter. The Escort van was the forerunner to the Connect, but about 20% smaller all round.
@ChasinSimplicity6 жыл бұрын
Lol no rust it was a California car. Couple dings here and there though.

Aw yeah! Good stuff. Love the update and it seems like you may be on to something really awesome with how the temperature is able to be regulated so well in the Prius. Thanks for the update, excited for more!

Thanks me too! I’m not the first to do this but I’m certainly enjoying it very much. I also like how stealth it is. Pulling a little trailer I couldn’t just hang out somewhere without drawing attention

Wow that’s an amazing story. Good for you for figuring out a way. No internet or anything. I never would have thought to do what I have done with a Prius without others doing it first.
@rhondalyn1006 жыл бұрын
I'm new here and wondering if you could do a vid on the differences you are experiencing in camping in the Prius compared with camping in the 4runner. I am seriously considering downsizing from a small travel trailer to a vehicle and it appears these two are very popular camping options. It looks as if the 4runner would have more space but I'm guessing the Prius would win out with fuel efficiency. Does the Prius warm as well as cool during the night? Thanks!
@ChasinSimplicity6 жыл бұрын
Hi rhondalyn. The Prius does do that but I don’t recommend doing the heater thing. The motor runs a lot more to do that than it does cooling. The 4runner has more height when you sit up but the Prius has same amount of area as a 4runner! Which is crazy. The 4runner does offer massive ground clearance though which I love. I will do a video about that at some point down the road. I think that’s a great idea

K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Superman) I think you will like this. However, I liked the Cargo Trailer concept. I have watched rusty78609.com and others do this. Cheap way to go. Comfort ??? Take care...……….I'll be watchin' ! Cajun

Yup. Rusty was one of the guys that I watch. He’s so awesome and says it like it is! Except he buys his stuff new and then gets something different every few years. I’d go broke doing that lol. Appreciate you watching CJ. Any good free camping that a Prius can get to that you can recommend in Louisiana?
@cajunjamis90016 жыл бұрын
@@ChasinSimplicity LOL "good free"??? Louisiana needs all the revenue it can get! Like most states they are Broke. If you are going through, go slow and proceed with caution!!!

Great to hear about your changes! :) Was it about a year ago you tested sleeping in your SUV and didn't think that would work long term? Here you are in something so much smaller. You just don't actually know until you get out there what will work for you, and what compromises you are willing to make. Are your able to prepare your meals in the car then? With your previous camper setup sounded like not having a kitchen was part of the problem. Great way to save gas money, more stealth and charge items. Looking forward to hearing about your travels. Tina

So far I have not prepared any food in it just buying ready to eat stuff. I did carry my stove with me but not used it yet. That will be another endeavor. Yes good memory on the camping in the 4runnner. That was back in Jan. I brought way too much stuff and it sucked. Even this short trip I already know what I’m not taking next time around! Great analysis. I’m really enjoying the Prius. Can’t wait to get back on the road
